Any place to buy milk near BCV?

We are staying at BCV in a few weeks. I am taking cereal with us for breakfast. Is there any place (like a gift shop or something) that has milk you can buy by the gallon or 1/2 gallon? Or do I need to stop and get it before we check in?

Thanks,
DJ

You can get milk and various other food items in the gift shop.

The resort store carries many items at convenience store prices.

Milk, eggs, bread, soft drinks, beer, wine, snacks, some frozen goods (pizza, TV dinners, etc.) are all available at every DVC resort.

If you will require groceries for the stay, a stop at a local grocery will offer a better selection and better pricing, but if you need only a few basic items, the resort store is very convenient and close by!

Enjoy!

Most of the food items I am bringing can be packed without a cooler; but since milk needs to stay cold, it would be easier to just get it there. Thanks! I'm glad to hear I can buy it there.

I know the shop by BWV (can't remember the name) has milk and other grocery items. Somehow my impression is there is a lot more items than at the shop at BC/YC when we stayed there 2 years ago. Not sure if they expanded after BCV was built.

Do they charge the same prices?

The other posters are correct. They do have milk, alcohol and other food items right next to BCV at the main Beach Club hotel gift shop. Also, if you go to the DVC website, they have a grocery order list. This list has all of the prices. If you want, you can fax the list before you get down there and they will deliver the groceries right to your room the day you arrive. :jester:

Are you flying or driving? The reason I ask is there has been lots of talk lately about bringing food and flying as there has been increased trouble with the baggage scanners as food is a problem to scan. If you are flying, and can box up non- perishables, I would suggest shipping it to the resort via ups or similar.

As for the resort store, we have bought lots of refrigerated items there, and yes they are expensive, but when you compare it to the meals at Disney, it's cheap.

Luckytso-yes, the prices will be the same at all the resort stores.

We are driving, and can easily bring food that doesn't have to stay cold. We are bringing cereal for breakfast, and would want milk. I am sure it is expensive at BCV, but it would be nice to be able to buy it here and not have to go out shopping just for milk. I will bring juice boxes and pop and snacks for in the evening. I can think of lots of things to bring that we won't need to keep cold in the car, but we have to have milk with our cereal! So if that is all I have to buy at the store, I think I can handle the sticker shock (which I am sure will be quite high).

Thanks!

Not sure how long your drive is, but you could travel with a cooler and take your milk with you. That's what we do, but our drive is only about 5 hours.

We usually stop at a grocery on our way in, then restock perishables at the Screen Door on the Boardwalk. Expensive but saves us the time so it's worth it.

We used the grocery order system at BWV a long time ago and weren't real happy with it. We could have bought the same items at the Screen Door for LESS and also could have gotten different sizes (often smaller than what was offered on the DVC list). Also, one of the eggs was cracked and had been cracked for quite a while, judging from the odor that came from the carton. We called and the carton was replaced promptly, but we felt we should never have been given that carton to start with....
