Any Pixie dust/Random acts of Kindness at Disneyland?

I have two from my most recent trip:

I have a bright pink very large hat from Disneyland Paris, made to resemble Angel, Stitch's girlfriend. I hauled it to Anaheim because I wanted to see Stitch's reaction to it.
Of course me being me I wore it to the parks after our character breakfast.

I'm a pin trader. So we're walking along the Tiki Room and I see a Cast Member with a hip lanyard who had two of the Hidden Mickey pins I wanted. So I stopped her and asked to trade. She looked at me oddly, then asked me to hold on a second. She turned away from me and you could hear an odd noise, like plastic ripping.

She turned back and asked: "Are you sure that those two are the pins you want?"

I literally went "huh?" for a second until I realized she had put the Angel t-shirt pin from the new Hidden Mickey series on the strap of her lanyard.
If you collect pins you know that these shirts are pretty much the hot item of the moment and they are incredibly difficult to find on CM lanyards. And Angel was the one I really, really wanted.

I almost lost it right there. Picture :dance3::cheer2::banana::yay::woohoo: combined.

She laughed and told me: "I had to do this. You ARE Angel."

I gave her a nice LE in trade and thanked her like 20 times until my friends finally got me to move.

Then a couple of days later a local friend of mine wanted to go to Princess Fantasy Faire. She never has anyone that stands in line with her, so I told her okay, we'll go. We made it through and saw the usual: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.

My friend had really wanted to see Belle, and I had been hoping for Tiana. I was wearing a custom made shirt saying "real girls love frogs" with a picture of Naveen on the front and "surreal girls prefer alligators" with a picture of Louis on the back.

So we asked the CMs who would come next and if Tiana was there - it was pretty close to closing time and we figured there'd be at least one more switch. They told us Belle, Jasmine and Ariel - no Tiana today. Oh well, okay, at least one of us would get to see who she wanted. So we walked to get in line again.

We noticed some CMs started whispering and pointing at my shirt, but thought nothing of it.

It's finally our turn and they announce that there'll be a hold up because the princesses are switching over. Yes! Great timing!

So we wait... and wait.... definitely longer than usual. I even put on my sweater because I was getting cold.

Then the CM serving as greeter comes back around the corner, grinning from ear to ear and loudly proclaims that "Princess Tiana has decided to join us." Eeek!!! :scared1:

I don't think I ever got rid of a sweater that fast. LOL

She was lovely. Made a huge fuzz about me because of the shirt, and even the Photopass guy was on the ball and snapped some great pictures. My frineds were too busy laughing about me being so frantic.

Ah JetSkiGirl! You made me tear up again! Do you have pics of his costume? It sounds adorable :) (I understand if you don't want to share online tho :) )

I don't know if you are still reading this thread (and I'm so sorry that I didn't see this till now) but here is a picture of the costume.

This picture was taken at the hotel before we walked over. I have others from inside DL but it was darker and the pictures are not as good because the flash reflected off the tape on the costume and vests, LOL.

And interesting enough, all the teachers at his school last year dressed as construction workers (we had no idea) so they asked him to join in their teacher picture.

What do you mean when mentioning Pixie dust and random acts of kindness at Disney world?
I am going over christmas time,, my first visit; so I am trying to learn all I can about Disney world before I go.
Thanks.

Random Act of Kindness are simply that, random things that CM's or other guests do to make someone else's visit special. They are random because they are unexpected.

FYI, this is the DisneyLand board, not WDW. :)

I'm a CM for the Studios, so when I'm in the park I'm a guest.. but I carry around some CM pins and other studio related items that I'll gift to people (super gifts if you are willing to trade me Ariel pins). I can't get you to the front of the line, or do any park related perks, but I think that any bit of magic helps; it can be a gift, a conversation, or making other guests feel that they're important.

I also talk to a lot of CM's that I meet.. especially ones from my home state. :)

There are lot of RAK that I see whenever I'm there. Nothing like some of you have experienced, but there are lots of small things.

Last visit my son was purchasing/trading pins for every one of his coworkers
at the sandwich shop he works in. He had a very specific idea for each friend and spent a lot tie and $ choosing just the right ones. We were closing up DCA one night wearily walking out with the closing mass of park guests when he spied a pin on a CM's lanyard he had been searching for all week. He was trying to decide which pin to give up for this one for his friend when the CM said please let me gift it to you. It will be my own magical moment for the day!
We, too have so many unexpected special moments on our trips. My mom bought me a MM journal to write down all our stories and special Disneyland memories.
