It seems like there's a lot of things going on this weekend there. Wish we were already in the new house and settled. BTW, we finally agreed with the owners of the house on a price. Now we just have to get ours sold here in Arkansas! Anyone want to move to Wal-Mart country; I know a great home for sale.

How could I have missed this thread? I guess I was spending too much time over at the Theme park strategy board planning the August trip - alas it is over and I'm "home" in Oakdale and "home" at the community board.

I would love to attend a DIS board Pittsburgh meet!

All the families with little ones: The Mall at Robinson is having a grand opening of the Disney Store(I think my friend said this weekend). Mickey and Minnie will be there. Also for South Hills area DISers: The old Hollywood Theater is reopening in Dormont. There is an article in the Post Gazette today 9/14 The Theater should be open by Dec.

My Dh is now there, living in a hotel and working. We won't see him again for a while.

Oh, I forgot to ask after I got home from our house hunting trip there...
I saw a Buick Rendevous with WDW plates on the front and a Mickey antenna topper going down the interstate towards the city. Was that any of you???

Hey all! Sorry it took so long to post here; I got back from Pittsburgh (LOVED the city!) and immediately started a series of dentist appointments for root canals, crowns, etc. etc... Not a lot of energy here, but still going over all the info I brought back with my partner, trying to see where we want to look for a house, and trying to timeline how long it will take us to get our current house ready to sell. He still wants to get there to see things for himself too, but not until after our Disney trip this December. Gotta plan for that now, but thanks for everyone's help, and I'll let you know what our next steps are!

OK, I'm so excited that I just found this thread! I live in the South Hills, Upper St. Clair with my DH, DD(7months) and my Airedale Terrior. I decided to do a search on Pittsburgh and found this! Just wanted to say hi and also that I would be interested in a PGH meetup if it takes place!

Amy. I grew up in Monroeville and work/attend church in Pitcairn. I'm just over the countyline now in North Huntingdon. You're not alone!

I bet you guys all miss the monroeville disney store! i worked there for four years and miss it terribly. in fact, i have boycotted that mall, haven't been there since the day the store closed! It was the most fun job ever!

You probably rang up a number of my purchases over the years!!

What gets me is, I now have two grandbabies and no Disney store to purchase them anything! How sad is that?

I think it's terribly sad! Our store was always crowded and we had the best guests! If you go to the store at Westmoreland Mall, it's like a mini-monroeville store, same carpet and same animation. I go there to get my fix but it's not the same as being behind the register! I was lucky enough to get some of the animation that they TRIED to destroy by throwing it in a dumpster! A few of us ex-cm's still keep in touch to this day!
