Any other uses for contact lens cleaner solution

Long story short...my daughter has alot of bottles of unopened contact lens solution that have expired. She very rarely even puts contacts in anymore at college so I was just wondering if there are any other uses for this. I wouldn't give it away to anyone since the solution has expired but am hoping that there might be someone who knows of another use for this! I just hate to throw this away!

Gosh, I would be interested too. A few years ago I stopped wearing contacts, and had to dispose of the solution. Pharmacies in my area now accept medications for green recycling, but I am not sure if they would take contact lens solution.

I use it to dilute mascara that has gotten chunky. Though this only uses a couple of drops at a time, so would take a lifetime to use up a large bottle!

Note there is a difference between saline solution and multipurpose no-rub contact solution. That link would be saline solution, basically as close to human tears as you can get. Multipurpose no-rub solution is what everyone I know uses and has disinfectant chemicals in it, so don't be squirting that up your nose.

There is also a third kind, peroxide solution (most common brand name, Clear Care.) That is very close to being straight peroxide, so you can use it for whatever purposes you would normally use peroxide, except for wound care. In a pinch, I've been known to use it to clean grout.
