Any other DVC Pilots and/or Aircraft Owners?

Just thought I would revive this thread to see if any new pilots have joined the thread or board.

This topic is covered fairly frequently on AOPA forums... and it is done quite reguarly. For us it would be roughly 6 hour flight with one stop for food, fuel and potty. By the time you figure in standing in line at our airport for security and boarding.. its a wash for us..

We might give it a whirl once I finish figuring out twins....

I was cruising the DIS when I came across this post planning for my trip next Sunday. A lot has changed since I posted this a year ago! I got my instrument ticket in January (good).... I lost an engine in flight (bad)... Cost me a furtune (very bad)... My DW gave birth to our daughter (our first) AND she loves to fly (great).... :cool1:

Private pilot here. Love to fly, but time and money get in the way.
Love to fly to the northwoods - a 2 hour flight instead of a 6 hour drive. The little airport we fly into there has a 3800' grass strip, surrounded by lakes - it's awesome.
Have found that trips to MCO and DEN are more economical taking the flying bus - love that competition!:thumbsup2

Time... Money... and more DVC Points... All get in the way! LOL :rotfl2:

I fly about 250 hours a year a recreational... DVC trips... golf trips whenever we can. The price of fuel is going to cut deep into my hours next year.:sad1:

Another Private Pilot here. I have not flown into DW yet, but I hope to one day. Only VFR rated, so planning would have to be at a premium. But I would love to do it at least once.

How cool would it be if the STOL was still functional and available??

Used to fly years ago ... but have been inactive for ~15 years. Became "no fun" flying alone once my pilot pals got married and moved away. :( (Thanks - now you have me missing the old days. When did I last hear, "Hey, I'm bored at work. Let's grab a burger in Palm Springs. Meet you at the club; have 5NP reserved."? Too, too long ago.)

I fly for the Air Force and have my own plane for "fun" flying. It is great to skip the security lines at the airport. My family travels to WDW in a 1969 Cessna C421A.

My husband is instrument rated and we own a 1970 Cessna 172. We fly to destinations 3-4 hours away, but that is far enough for me :goodvibes My almost 16 year old daughter thinks she might give it a try, too. I agree Goldi - Mayor Daley sure messed up when he took out Meigs - that was a great way to get downtown Chicago.
