Hello wonderful ladies:

I had my day 3 transfer today and it went great. As you may recall, I posted a week ago completely panic stricken because my lining was only 4 - but the clinic was able to get it up to 8 so things were good to go. I then posted again because only 7 eggs were retreived from our donor...But - of those 7 -- 6 eggs were mature, they icsied all 6 and all 6 fertilized. We were told we had hearty and healthy eggs.

That was borne out by the fact that on day 3 - all of our 6 embies had survived!!

At the clinic where we are treating - their grading system is the number of cells (generally between 6 and 8 - the higher the better), then
A-D re fragmentation (A being the best) and then good or poor quality.

Our 6 embies were as follows:

8AGood
8AGood
7BGood
7BGood
6AGood
6BGood

All excellent embies!!!

They transfered the 2 8AGoods and they froze the remaining 4 emboyos --Yeah!! -- so we have 2 high quality embroyos in me now and 4 great ones on ice.

I am so excited!!! I can't believe I am in the 2ww - my first time ever!!

Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it!

So - when can I take a home pregnancy test? My beta is not until February 28th.

Yay!! Sounds awesome!!!! :):goodvibes :goodvibes

Nicole, sending lots of :wizard: your way! I am so excited for you.

Well, AF should have been here yesterday, but didn't show up. I just tested and got a BFN. :sad1: We are going to a friends house today and I know they are going to ask questions. I just really don't feel like talking about it with them. :guilty:

Rebecca, good luck with the HSG! I hope that they can either help you or reasurre you with the results of it

Amber  I have to admit that is why I never told family/friends if i was TTC or not. I am sure since many knew I miscarried that some will ask in the future. There are just things I never want to talk about. Even my friends who were TTC and it casually came up (there are a few) we just don't discuss ;) And unless you don't have any symptoms, don't forget to have some hope until AF does show

My bbs REALLY hurt today. And they're full. Without a bra on, there are these weird sharp pains on the sides, and a dull achey pain in the front of them. TMI, sorry. Did anyone have these so soon after ovulation? I'm 4 dpo now...just wondering why they hurt so much.:confused3

Just popping in Steph to let you know that what you are describing was my very first sign that I was pg! My bbs were sooooooooo sore and huge almost immediately after I O'd...and they kept getting more and more sore. They usually would get sore the day or two before AF would come. So, I knew something was strange that mine were so sore so early after I O'd.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! :goodvibes

hi guys, sorry i was MIA, i was resting up after the retrieval on thursday.

it went well. it was at 7am on thursday. i was completely out for it and it only took about 20 minutes. there was a screwup and the lady i called on tuesday to tell that DH was doing his sample at home, well she never told anyone else. so we got there at 6am for pre-op and no one was there to take his sample and prepare it. we were not happy.

finally the embryologist showed up and DH had to go confirm his sample with his SSN etc....while he was gone doing that, they wheeled me in the OR. the table was weird, it had a big hole in the middle, where my bottom was. i asked later about it and apparently they can remove the bottom half of the table and then move your legs into the stirrups or whatever. freaky. i have no problems with anisthesia, this was only my second surgery ever, after my lap in october. i woke up fast, but kept asking DH the same questions over and over. :confused3 :rotfl2:

and then the news. i had 13 follicles we had been tracking and the RE prepared me that only 7 would be mature. they in fact got 8 mature. so one more than planned. i was in no pain afterwards. after being in recovery for an hour or so, i got to go home and slept the day away. i woke up feeling some cramping and pain. blood when i wiped, which is normal. very bloated. apparently the fluid from the follicles is left in there and so you feel almost more bloated after the ER than before. not fun. sweatpants are my friend....my best friend! :thumbsup2

friday i was nervous, we were to get a call on friday telling us how many fertilized. after not hearing anything by noon, i finally caved in and called, not realizing he had just left a message on my cell.

ALL 8 FERTILIZED!!! NATURALLY! so like Nicole- i had 100% fertilization when the avg is only 75%. he said the embryos look great too. we had prepared and authorized them to do ICSI- the procedure Nicole mentioned in her post, where they physically inject a sperm into each egg. but we didn't need it. DH"s super sperm (as he calls it now) fertilized all those eggs on their own. so that's $1500 less we will have to pay for ICSI! and even though i was told before that we would get a call everyday except day 4, the embryologist said he would not call today (day 2) and leave the embies un-disturbed since they are doing so great. the less you disturb them, the better for their growth, but then you don't know how they are. so we heard nothing today and are just praying all 8 are still growing and dividing cells.

we will get a call tomorrow morning with an update. supposedly only 25% make it to the blastocyst stage. so i am nervous. i hope we have a few blasts and a few that are good quality even if not blasts. many times the embies will arrrest or die before making it to day 3 or 5. so pray all of mine make it. i really want some left to freeze, even though those chances are slim (only 20% have any left to freeze). so just anxiously awaiting the call tomorrow. sorry for the long post!

Nicole- thanks for updating them while I was MIA! i just sent you an email.

oh and did my first progesterone in oil shot tonight. not fun. it's a 1 and half inch needle, that is a thick guage for the oil. most REs have you take it every night until your beta test, and then you continue it for 10 weeks into your pregnancy if you are pregnant. i've heard horror stories about this shot, the huge needle and having a sore bottom the next day. so i iced the spot for a few minutes, laid on the couch. DH warmed the PIO in warm water to help it go in easier. i didn't even feel him do the shot. i was so shocked. that ice numbed me enough that i didn't feel this huge needle go ALL the way in slowly! ouch! DH was so worried about doing it, afraid of hurting me, so it was a relief for both of us. especially since we could possibly be doing this every night for 10 weeks.

geez. childbirth will seem like a breeze after all this! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

thanks for all your thoughts and prayers guys! i'll keep you posted, now back to sitting on my heating pad! lol

well another update- day 3 lab report

out of our 8 embies, all 8 still going strong!

3 excellent - 8 cell, grade 1
4 good- 2 are 8 cell, grade 2
-2 are 7 cell, don't remember the grade, 1 or 2
1 average- 8 cell, grade 3

transfer is tuesday at noon. hopefully those excellents make it til then and we will transfer 2. yeah!

Michelle

I am SO happy for you!!! That report sounds great.

So things are on for Tuesday now?

I will keep you and your little embroyos in my prayers!

I am 2 days into my 2ww (beta on 2/28) and I am climbing the walls with anxiety -- the wait is killing me - I am so anxious to know. I think I am going to start peeing on a stick everyday even though it would be physically impossible to get a positive any earlier than Friday 2/23

I just can't take the waiting.

Hope all you girls are doing great.

Steph - any news or further symptoms?

-Nicole

Stephanie, that is actually quite promising there with the sore bbs. That was my first sign.

Michelle, I am so glad to hear the great news! I really am hoping that you and Nicole both get those BFPs in a couple of weeks!

Wow Michelle that is great news!!!!! Well keep your little embies in my thoughts!!!

You know we could have 3 or 4 BFP's within the next 2 weeks!!!! How exciting :cool1:

Keep us updated girls and lots of Baby Dust :wizard:

We had DH's banquet this weekend and we had a good time. It was great seeing some of the guys from his old depot. We stayed up way to late and danced a bit too much for my poor little feet. But we had fun :goodvibes

Well this is day 3 of AF. She should be gone soon then it's on for lucky number 12.

Have a great week everybody!!! :grouphug:

Hi ladies, hope everyone had a nice long weekend!

First of all, congrats to Michelle and Nicole, what great news!! :cool1:

My best friend is the proud mom of twin boys, born last June, carried by a surrogate, (her cousin) with, as she puts it, her and DH's buns, her cousin's oven. They had to try the invitro twice, but it worked wonders, and they are so happy. There are soo many happy invitro stories these days, I just love science! :thumbsup2

DH and I had a nice, relaxing weekend. Headed down to the alps and enjoyed some good food and great views. It was nice just to get away.

Well, I found out today that my SIL and Brother are officially TTC. It would be great if we got pregnant around the same time, but at the same time I feel a sort of competition now! Which is really bad since no one really knows we are TTC! :lmao: Oh well, I *now* really understand what my other friends have gone through when their sister/friend/cousin got pregnant first, or when they weren't even trying! And honestly, my brother is a few years older (his wife is a few years younger) then me so always told him he had to go first, that we were waiting on him, so I guess that's what I get :rotfl:

Looking forward to hearing all kinds of good news from this thread in the weeks ahead!

:flower3:
Mindy

Well...now I'm really crossing my fingers.

My bbs have been sore all weekend, and especially last night/this morning. And they're HUGE. My hubby's eyes nearly popped out of his head. To quote, "Not only are they big, but they look HEAVY!!"...and they are, I had to "heave" them into a bra this morning..hehehe.

So....cross fingers ;)

Yeah Steph -- sounds positive and hopeful!!

You know what they say about good things coming in threes...maybe there will be a BFP for me on the 28th, Michelle on the 1st and you!!

When can you test?

Thinking of you and all the TTC girls!

-Nicole

According to my handy dandy ovulation calendar, my next cycle is supposed to start on the 27th (my dd's 6th birthday!), so maybe this weekend. Hurry up! Hurry up!! :) I wanna test!!!! I got two freebies with the preseed that we bought, so hopefully I won't need to go buy any ;)

Michelle, congrats and good luck with your transfer today! :wizard:

Nicole, I'm so happy it all worked out and you got a good number of embryos.

Wow...we're going to have lots of excitement here over the next 2 weeks. :goodvibes
