From what I understand, there are very few drugs that negatively affect sperm, and nasal sprays are harmless. (DH is on several prescription meds, so we've had this conversation with our drs.)

You know what is weird, they never talk about what men need to do in preconception lists. I never even thought about what my dh needs to avoid except obvious basics like drugs, smoking, etc. which he doesn't do anyway. I wonder why? Are these things not that much of a problem?

Quick question for you all - has anyone heard from Carla / AllyandJack? I thought she was scheduled for a u/s this week, but haven't seen anything.

AF is here- just as predicted and right on time. :( Here's to month 5. pixiedust:

Any of you have news yet???

So sorry Kelly. :grouphug: I am still waiting...last month AF came on CD 31 - so any day now I should get it. I did a test yesterday, and it was a BFN...so I know AF will arrive soon. :sad2: I will also be on month 5 of trying. We really do have a lot in common!! ;)

Sorry on AF showing up! (((hugs)))

Jen - I was actually coming in here to inquire as to Carla! I know she had a u/s and saw 1 healthy bean, but haven't seen anything from her since.

Also wondering how Allison (Vettechick) is doing!

Well I see the wicked witch is starting to show for some of us...mine is not here yet but I took another test this morning and BFN...not a good sign

I had my blood drawn yesterday for hormone testing and talked about getting hubby tested. Then depending on what the results are she had given me a perscription for Clomid.

Has anyone seen this article on MSNBC?

Guys, eat fruits and veggies to improve fertility

:( Sorry to hear about AF arriving. AF should arrive for me next week. I haven't taken a HPT yet. I woke up this morning feeling sick, but I didn't sleep well last night and went to bed late, so I think that's why. I was *this* close to taking a test, but decided to wait since AF isn't scheduled to arrive until next Friday. If I wake up feeling yucky again tomorrow morning, I may test. This will be month 5 being off of BCP for me. Only really month 2 of *really* trying.

I've been wondering about Carla, too. I hope she checks in soon!

ARRRGHH! My DH never eats veggies. Now I've got to make him.

Thanks for the article. I just told my hubby he needs to eat more fruits and veggies. We bought our crib yesterday. :cheer2: Now if we could just get a little bambino to fill it!!! Good luck and baby dust to all still waiting! For all of us that AF has visited...heres to next month.

For those of you undergoing test/treatments, how long did you try before seeking the help? I know they usually say after a year. We're only on month 5, and dh was already checked (prior chemo was the reason).

I have a friend who tried 2 and 1/2 years and it naturally happened.

I was just curious....

Also found a new website! I thought I saw them all. This one is really helpful:

I am also curious how long people waited until getting blood work done. I have called my OB, and she said she wants me to keep trying for a few more months (next month will be month 5). She said "normal" length is about a year. I just don't want to wait a year, and then find out that something wrong and have wasted all that time!! ;)

You're welcome for the article! My dh found it online......he never eats fruits and veggies.....so he thought he was in trouble, until my hpt came out positive....he was like "whew!" He was afraid he would have to start eating them!

As far as testing goes I think it is really up to your ob/gyn. They usually say 1 year of trying before testing. I had been off of BC since October 2005 and my ob/gyn prescribed prometrium and metformin in June and then Clomid in July. She said she would provide me with 2 months of Clomid and then I would have to go for testing if I did not conceive. I took 1 month of Clomid...took the next cycle off.....just so happens the cycle I took off I had the most clear, abundant CM I have had in a very long time......and then my hpt came back positive. The same thing happened to my SIL...she took Clomid for 3 months....nothing....took a month off and became pregnant that month.

Baby Pixie Dust to all!!! :wizard:

Thanks for the info Cari!! :thumbsup2 Interesting how the month you and your SIL went off the Clomid - you both got pregnant!!

Hello Ladies...hope you all are enjoying your weekend. The weather has turned nasty here so not much going on.

DH and I have been trying for 8 cycles. That is roughly 7 months (my cycles are short) and I just had my blood work done...should get the results on Monday.

Still no AF...she was due today...we shall see.

Have a wonderful weekend and Baby Dust to all :wizard:

Add me to the list of people who used Clomid, and got pregnant when coming off it. I did 8 rounds of Clomid (last one was supposed to be for IUI, but no follicles), and we decided to take a few months off before going on to injectables. Lo and behold, I got pregnant the month we stopped.

My doctor started the testing after 6 months. I was 30 at the time, had a long history of abnormal cycles, and was pretty sure about the PCOS (I meet just about every criteria, even without the bloodwork)

Good luck everyone!

Jen

Hi everyone!

So...quick update....still no AF. My longest cycle ever was 32 days - and today was CD 32 for me. But, I took a HPT today and it was clearly a BFN. So.... :confused3 Maybe just an extra long cycle. I would think I would get a least a faint line by now if I was pg. We will see what tomorrow brings!! ;)

Hi,

Does anyone use the Clear Plan Fertility Monitor? I am wondering how accurate it is. I am using it for the first time this month. I hope it works within three months because the test sticks are so expensive and a pain to buy.

Good Luck Kelly! Have you tried different brands of tests?

I'm on CD 24. I don't feel pregnant, so I assume I'll get a BFN. I haven't tested yet...trying to wait until Friday.

Hope you all had a nice weekend - pretty uneventful here - hubby was away all weekend for his Guard Drill.

I'm currently in my 2WW - according to FF, I O'd on CD24 & am now 5 DPO. So, I'm trying to wait until 14 DPO to test - since this is my first month charting I don't really know when AF is due.

For the last few days I've had a really bloated belly & sore & swollen bbs. Trying not to read too much into anything - I know it's early!
