They even tell you on the package that it's really not that reliable until the 1st day of your missed period (atleast the 1st response does)

Nicole, what is it about mothers?!? They have an amazing knack for saying the exact wrong thing at the exact wrong time. Of course, when we're mothers, we'll never do that. :goodvibes For sure I won't tell my daughter to relax and put a pillow under her rear end and I definitely won't lay the "I'm getting older and all of my relatives have died by the time they're 55, so I don't have much time left" guilt trip on my kids. :rotfl:

Jen....so....was there testing this morning?!?!?!

I decided to make an appearance at work. I really don't feel like being here for many reasons. I feel lousy. I'm tired. I took Tylenol 3 to try and go to sleep and had a horrible nightmare. If this is what's going to happen when I sleep, I'd rather have the insomnia!

DH is calling the hospital today to try and track down the blood work order. I suppose I could call my RE and have her re-fax it, but that just opens up more opportunity for them to lose it. If I go there and they don't have it, I'm going to be dragged out of there in cuffs.

Good luck Carla...deep breaths...think happy thoughts...and try putting a pillow under your rear end!! (kidding)

Hope today goes well for you!

I haven't been on here in a while and I am mainly just lurking while dd naps but I couldn't help but notice the posts about the First Response test. I just wanted to mention that when I was preg. with dd I just *knew* it and I happened to have a First Response at home. I did not test until I had actually missed a period though. I tested when AF was 2 days late. But even then I did not get a positive. It looked like I might have gotten a bit of faint line but it was so faint I wasn't sure. Dh and I rushed out and bought a digital EPT test and it flashed preg. in just a few seconds. So I am sure everyone's situation is different but I definitely recommend the digital tests and I will probably never buy a First Response again. It seems to take way too long to get a definite BFP for my patience level.

We are not planning to ttc until after I graduate and get my career started a couple years from now so I won't be posting much on here for a while but I thought I'd let you all know about my experience with the tests.

School is going well so far and my dd is doing great in daycare which is a relief! The only downside is that both she and I caught colds last week. Dh is still recovering from lower hernia surgery a few weeks ago too so I have been extra busy since he hasn't been able to help take care of dd or help around the house much. We usually divide the chores so I have been doing twice as much on top of going to school too. I think I am officially SuperMom/SuperWife these past few weeks! Speaking of which, my dad, stepmom, and little sisters are coming over tomorrow and my house is just awful! I need to take advantage of the rest of dd's nap and get to cleaning! Have a great day!

Hi there everybody!

Did you all have a good weekend? Sorry I couldn't post yesterday, but I don't have internet access at home yet. The wonders of renovating a 100 year old farmhouse.

Anyways, BFP!!!!!!! I didn't believe the first one, so I did a second. I didn't believe that either, so did a 3rd. All of them seem to agree! My b**bs are in agreement with the tests too - they HURT!!! :)

I still can't get over the irony of this finally happening on the 1 month I stopped with the meds, u/s, and everything. I know why it happened - we're going on a cruise, and this is God's way of making sure I don't drink... :)

Must go pretend I work.....

Have a good day!

Jen

Jen, I am so very excited for you! :cloud9: Congrats and praying for a smooth 9 months.

Oh that is wonderful news Jen. That is how my last one happened. We decided to take a month off and Boom. Not it just need to happen again.

Kim

Yeah Jen!!! So happy for you!!

Of course - you are not helping out people like me and (dare I say) Carla who have annoying mothers that keep telling us to just relax and it will happen...you stop everything and take a "break" and bam - BFP!

So happy for you though!!

You give us all hope.

Good thoughts coming your way!

Congrats, Jen! That is wonderful news.

WOO HOO Jen!!! So, what's your EDD??? I know you have it figured it out already.

I hate to say it, but that is the way that both DS and this one in me now were conceived...I stopped temping, stopped thinking about it, stopped bding for the most part, LOL. Strange how that works sometimes. I wish it worked for everyone..

Tasha - Kylie is so cute! Love the blond hair! Be prepared - DS gets sick with every season change at daycare. Just something I have come to expect. But new daycare parents get freaked!

Carla - ugh on all the paperwork screw up. Hope things were straightened out!

Congrats JEN!! Yippy... Sometimes, not for everyone I know, that break does work. That's what happened to us too!

wow, congrats to you Jen, that is awesome! i would have taken like 3 tests too! :thumbsup2  I am so thrilled for you! :cool1:

well did my second test last night, BFN again. today is CD 31. called the doc, said stop the progesterone suppositories and i should get AF in a few days. what a pain. I guess the prog can complete delay all PMS symptoms too? I haven't had any at all and i usually have terrible cramps, headache/migraines, screwdriver in my back etc. I KNOW when AF is coming. but not this time. dang drugs. oh well. i've been exhausted lately too. i am probably doing that to myself being a hypochrondriac hoping it is something else. :rotfl:

so i guess aF will be here in a few days and then we can start IUI round 2. $700 down the drain, i know it isn't as much as some of you have invested, not even near it, but it is still disappointing! :furious:

i had 4 good eggs too! dang it!

(((Michelle))) I am sorry you got another BFN! That sucks! I am surprised your dr. doesn't want to do a beta. For me, progesterone increases the feeling that AF is coming. I get stronger cramps, really tender bbs, etc. DANGIT for you :( I was hopign this was your month!!!

Lisa - sorry! I know people hate to hear that it happened "on an off month" or that we "weren't trying". It gets frustrating. I don't know why that has worked for me 2 times now. Science is a strange thing. I hope Diana's sibling is right around the corner..

On the other hand I met a woman who has a daughter who is classmate of Diana's and she is pregnant with her second at 41. She did take clomid though and it happened pretty quickly.

My grandma had my aunt at the age of 41 - way back in 1961. She had been trying to get pregnant for 13 years and it finally happened.

There are 11 years between my uncle and my dad (grandma tried for 11 years for dad) and then the 13 between dad and aunt. Back then there was no clomid or IUI/IVF. Can you imagine the patience that woman must have had? 3 years was torture enough!

Congrats, Jen! That is wonderful news. Also, congratulations on proving Carla and Nicole's mothers right. ;)

Michelle, I am sorry :grouphug: If it turns out you aren't pregnant, do you get to start round 2 right away, or do you have to wait a few cycles?
