Never thought I'd ever be happy about this, but...I finally got AF today ! 20 days past my originally scheduled cycle, but it's there. At least I know that I'm not hitting menopause this early, LOL, and it also means that DH and I can try again :woohoo: !!

Good news. Now, get going!

You can't tell in that pic so much (BIL can't take pics and we lightened that one as much as we could, but coloring is off) but I actually have a light olive skin tone. I'm not naturally as "tan" as my hubby though. He's much more "brown" where I am definitely a "neutral" color (PITA for finding foundations) Some lighting works horribly with my skin tone and makes me look pale (something about flourescent especially). Since that was Nov, I wasn't tan at all... not much better currently since I can't tolerate outside now w/o my regular allergy meds :( And yeah, that's a short hair cut for me :rotfl: Most of it is down to my mid back, though I have LOTS of layers cut in since I have a TON of hair. So you weren't that off... though I do think my face is round :p I didn't realize you were only 5' though. Somehow I thought you were taller than me.

I totally understand about these being like books though, very odd when you see someone who is totally opposite. I remember Danacara was one of the posters on the DIS that just shocked me to no end with her looks. I expected dark hair, dark eyes and very tanned. Not the fair girl she is!

Momsully, no help here personally with those questions, but I wish you luck!

Woo hoo!!!! Fingers crossed for a better month this time!

If you go by the face books you have a triangular face...not round at all. I'm technically 5'2 but it's not that different from you.

cybrkitn YAY for AF showing!!! I agree with Denae...get busy ;)

I think that is only when I have an open smile... my chin drops and gives me a triangular face. Small grins and a straight face have me much closer to round IMO. At least that is what all the make up ladies & my hairstylists do say to me. Though with weight loss I am not quite as round as I used to be but definitely not oval either. Kind of eh shaped ;)

Here's a pic of me not really smiling... we were doing a series of shots to try to figure out which necklace went best with the formal I had on. So no make up, hair not done at all, and I look unhappy. But it sure helped me decide which necklace to chose :)

I started my metformin yesterday and was PMing with Kristy and had a few questions for those of you that don't mind sharing.

1 - What dose of metformin do you take?

2 - How often do you take it?

3 - Any advice on the side effects?

My doc started me on 850 mg one time a day for a week, then I will increase to twice a day. I took the first one last night and other than some intestinal issues this morning I seem to be OK. Any foods I should avoid?

Chelle - Good luck this cycle. I hope this Clomid works for you!

Hi momsully,

Most women are started on 500mg daily for a week, then go up to 1,000mg per day, then some increase to 2,000mg per day, just depends on what your docotr says. I was started on 500mg twice a day, but I decided to start with 500mg daily.

I took mine in the middle of my meal (ate half my meal, took pill, finished meal) and that seemed to work for me. I had some trouble when they were increased to 1500mg/day and have quit taking them (big mistake). I didn't lose any weight while I was taking them. After a couple of weeks on 1500mg/day, I was staying in the bathroom more than I was working, and I had a little stomach bug, so that pushed me over the edge. The gastro trouble should work itself out shortly. My mom takes Met for Diabetes and has trouble every now and then and she takes an Imodium. Some women increase their fiber and that seems to help.

I can't help you about what foods to avoid, you will know what is right for you. You should probably avoid things with alot of sugar or carbs, that seems to make it worse.

Hope this was helpful.

 You crack me up. I wouldn't have even thought to make a straight face or purposely not smile in order to choose the necklace.
Okay....it's more of a round face but I still see that you have a defined chin line versus those of us with really round faces.

I LOVE this top in this picture...where did you get it??
Gurgi- that was actually my sisters...i. borrowed a lot of her cute clothes for the trip! so not sure where it came from.

Kristine- good deal on no lupron next time. i think i was oversuppressed to, because i made almost as many eggs on clomid as i was on my IVF cycle! it is really trial and error the first time. so hopefully this next one will get it just perfect for you.

Dzny- great news on the prolactin. that is awesome this new doc has some good answer for you that make sense. Most OB/GYNs jsut aren't equipped or have the knowledge to support fertility issues, they can usually only take you so far or just don't know. sounds like this new plan will have you pregnant in no time. i know i have read lots of other forums that mention prolactin issues- so be sure and check the web out- one board is pregnancy-info.net- go to the problems getting pregnant forum. i know someone on there has started a prolactin thread.

Allison- love the matching shirts! i remember the days of the sadie hawkins dances!

No silly! I meant the series of pics... not that I wasn't smiling or anything! I was just getting tired of it all!

I do think my jawline has gotten more pronounced with weight loss, but it isn't wide enough to be a true triangle... it's a little too pointy and the width of my forehead is too wide. But my proportions otherwise are almost dead on with the round face (my length and width are w/in a half inch... or so I was told when I was once measured... that was scary). They classify people like Kate Winslet and Mandy Moore as round faced (for skinny chicks) and I always get styles of hair done much like theirs. It's also why short hair looks horrid on me

Hello Ladies!!! Sorry I vanished for a while things have been hectic and honestly I needed a TTC break. Rebecca!!!! Yeah!!!!:goodvibes I was sooo happy to see a BFP!!! Good luck..sticky baby dust 2 u!

My personal update: saw RE PCOS negative, luteal phase defect negative, anemia negative..negative...negative. I know u think i would be happy that nothing is wrong....which, of course, i am but then why am I NOT pregnant!!! This cycle we are starting clomid and doing 2 IUIs on day #14 and #15. I surge on day #15 and we have been doing ICI on #15 and #16. RE wants us to try day #14 and #15. So, that is my story. Day #1 should start for me on Sunday.

Baby Dust to all! I promise to try to be around more. I need the encouragement right now. I'll try to post a pic in the next few days.
Tinkerchelle- i totally sympathize. i too almost wished they could find something wrong with me. while i did have mild endo, it wasn't in any place that should have stopped us from getting preggo and even after my lap i still wasn't getting prego. every test we had was fine. they just had no clue what the problem was. it was so frustrating- if they don't know, they can't really pinpoint how to treat it. i hated that. i hope this new change helps out! keep us posted.

and Elaine- Monday for the big u/s!??? how exciting, i can't wait to hear the news!!!

Michelle when you were getting to the point of retrieval did your stomach feel extremely bloated?
I swear I can feel these follicles and it's almost like a pre-flo bloated feeling.

Elaine yah...I can see Kate Winslet hairstyles looking really good on you. I've also been told to keep my chair at least chin length. Anything short is a disaster.

Michelle, Monday it is... I hope to share very good news and maybe even the sex of the baby :)

Kristy, sorry you are feeling bloaty (or pre-bloaty) I absolutely hate that feeling. And yep, Kate Winslet is kind of a great model for me. Though she has a few inches on me, her over all shape is not too far off from mine. I think she's a beautiful lady!

Did anyone else see Dr. Phil yesterday? There was a woman on there who had a daughter and was desperate to have another child. They had been trying for three years, including countless IUI's and a failed IVF. She was obsessed with becoming PG, and it was ruining her and her DH's sex life and relationship. They had agreed to stop if the IVF failed, and she just couldn't let go. The DH felt like a sperm container. They both cried and cried.

I just wanted to reach out and hug her.

Dr. Phil understood her desire, but told her she needed to work on getting over her obsession. An OB/GYN suggested they only TTC using IUI, and all the rest of the time, sex would be for pleasure. Interesting idea. But I cringed because both the OB and Dr. Phil told them that if they would just relax, they would get pregnant. But I did see that all her stress would interfere with her hormonal balance.

Very interesting, though.

Okay so....I opened this thread at work and kept it in a small window. As it loaded up, your pic came up...and you looked naked since you were wearing a sleeveless shirt. My coworker was like  "WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT NAKED GIRLS?!?!" I freaked out and scrolled down fast to make sure you were wearing something...and luckily, you were. WHEW.

My left bewbie has been hurting all day...weird shooting pains going through the side of it. I know it's way too early since my 2 ww started on Monday...but still.

I'm not gonna let myself get all worked up about this. If it happens, it happens. ;)

I'm so glad for you! I'm about 5 days late now, and believe me I've blown enough on hpt! lol I just feel yucky, like I need to get all that lining out of there. Sorry if tmi! Good luck w/your bd!

helenabear- I'll be thinking of you! After having a m/c myself then a normal pregnancy, I can tell you that the worry never goes away. Just do your best to take care of yourself, that's all that's in your control. My son is 6 and I still worry about everything all the time. I guess that's part of being a parent.

I'm finally seeing a RE on Aug. 16! 18 mos. later. I have a friend that tried for 5 years on her own, was told her dh swimmers went backwards!? Then she got pregnant! And after trying just a few mos. made #2! There's always hope everyone!:)

A pp poster a few pages back mentioned something about an OTC pre-natal vitamin. Anyone know brand names? Or would it be best to contact my ob/gyn office to get an Rx? DH is getting the feeling that I should be on these while we are trying and I'm going to agree with him on this one (especially since he has been praying a lot for God's direction on this).

Thanks :goodvibes

Gurgi :rotfl: I am so sorry that my strapless formal made you think that! Odd about your left bewbie... I know you'll take what you get but fingers crossed ;)

Kellyf, I think the miscarriage was a mess for me to the poiint that I am not sure we can handle doing this again. I have some anxiety issues as it is, so this isn't much fun. I think I might relax come 30 weeks or so when hopefully all would be okay. Maybe feeling real baby movements would help too.

Denae, I admit, as someone who was going to be a family councelor I cannot stand Dr. Phil. They had a decent point about stress, my doctor actaully brought it up as well. She said all was physically fine with me and the stress I was putting myself under made it worse. However, I would NEVER say that it was all anyone had to do... though in their case she sounds like it was beyond healthy no matter what!

cybrktn, no help on prenatals. I still can't even take a regular one a day! My doc said that's fine as long as I keep with the folic acid :)
