Ladies, I need some help!

I have a Cricut, which I LOVE, but it is very bulky and it is kind of a oain in the butt to pull out to just cut small letters... I have been eying the slice ever since it came out, and now I can get the original for about 30$. The problem is, I'm wondering if the original cuts clean enough for my use (I'm kind of a perfectionist, and HATE ragged edges on my letters).

Are you satisfied with your slice?

I looked at the Slice when I was first looking at die cuts, but felt it would only cut small things and I needed to be able to make posters and needed something to cut at leadt 5-8 inches, so I purchased a Cricut instead. I hope someone comments on your question about the Slice because a friend of mine is interested in one as well.

I asked about one before and someone (can't remember who) said the pain of it was having to apply adhesive to the glass cutting mat - she said it was a bit of a knack. That put me off looking furtther!;)

I bought one when it first came out and could probably count on one hand how many times I've used it. You would have to buy cards (carts). Unlike the Cricut you can't just set the machine to cut and do other things, you have to hold the machine the entire time it cuts. I also found that it wasted a lot of paper.

I am an original Slice owner and I used it several times, and bought about 5 carts/SD Cards. I went through a time of not using it, and now that I have gone back to heavily using die cuts again, I can't get the thing to calibrate; it cuts like it took a hit of LSD! Everything comes out back a$$ward!

I've tried and tried to get it calibrated, read extensively on the Slice boards and website, and I just don't have a clue how to get it working properly again. I think it's junk at this point.

I do really like it when it works - it's small enough so that I can pack it up for day crops, it has some great designs that I don't have on Cricut carts, and it makes cutting letters really quick when you only need a few. I'm bummed that it doesn't work.

Thanks for the input! I think I'll grab it since it's 40$, and I'll see if it works well.

I saw the Slice and a bunch of cards on clearance at Michael's this past week. I'm happy with my Cricut, but thought others might be interested.
