Any opinions on the hacker who got naked

I hope the thief is charged with the child porn charge, but once again why does a teen take nude photos of herself with her phone. Once again, we tell teens OVER and OVER again, NOT to do this...WHY???? because something like this can happen

Because she can. Because it's fun. Because she loves her body and wants to photograph it. It does not matter why. She did not commit the crime with her legal choices.

It is foolish, plain and simple. Once upon a time I had a great body and I never felt the need to photograph it naked, so I dont get the fun part, but whatever.

But EVERY article that is ever written about teens, cell phones, social media and the Internet, tells them NOT to do this. This is the risk you take. None of it is secured, it just isnt.

ETA: and just because an act is not illegal does not mean the act itself is not foolish or without risks.

There are a couple of interesting articles about the "vulture" media - specifically calling out sites like HuffPo, Gawker, Perez Hilton, etc.

Basically, the articles are pointing out that those sites are upset that they got scooped on the leaks, so they shifted into righteous indignation mode. They cite the sites' previous attitude towards leaks, especially when the stolen photos were of men.

Gawker in particular went to court over their journalistic right & refusal to comply with a judge's order to remove the sex tape of Hulk Hogan. HuffPo had a poll to rate Greg Oden's body when his nude photos leaked. So which is it, are leaked/stolen nude celebrity photos fair game or not?

saw something similar to this article but its more on the grounds that its okay to post people private conversation/txt as long as its controversial but its not okay to post nudes... double standard in a sense?

That's an interesting point - is it a right to hack & post someone's email or texts if there's something in them that's salacious, controversial or objectionable (though not necessarily illegal) or is it a violation of their privacy?

The articles I mentioned though were making an apples-to-apples comparison, stating that the previous nude leaks were "the latest dish" & not a "sexual violation of his/her rights"

Who gets to deem what's "news worthy" & what's a gross "violation of privacy"?
