Any news on whether Tables in Wonderland will be available for purchase again or if it's returning at all? Maybe coming back in a new form? Anyone have any updates or news on this particular dining option?

Haven't seen anything about it coming back.
I don't expect it back until all the restaurants are open again.

Can you help me understand - if the APs come with dining discounts, what would be the benefit of Tables in Wonderland?

Tables in Wonderland is a larger discount, includes alcohol, and can be used at a number of bars/lounges. Depending on where you eat, what you eat, and how much you drink, TiW can offer a huge benefit over just using the AP dining discount.

As pp stated plus in the past, TiW covered a lot more restaurants then were covered by the AP discount.
No idea if that will be true this time or not.
When I look at the dining discounts for the new APs, almost all restaurants are only 10%, with a few at 15% and only Joffreys coffee at 20%.

You do have to do the math to make sure you come out ahead based on where you eat, but the discount on the alcohol at Disney prices can be quite nice! I've had one for most of my AP years. :drinking1

TIW also did not require an AP and was a good deal for locals.

Absolutely true. Without an AP, the math worked out to about $750 in meals/alcohol. With and AP (because theoretically you already have a 10% discount) you needed to spend closer to $1500 to break even. Only once in the years of having an AP (when they had a 20% for nearly every restaurant) was the AP discount better for us than TiW.

TiW always worked out as the better discount for us (family of 4). We like TS over QS and are not really dessert people, so most DDP didn't work for us and seemed like a waste. DVC and AP discount was nice to have included, but TiW was always worth the cost to save a bit more, and we could usually squeeze a second trip onto it, which gave it that much more value.

We also use the free Valet Parking provided by TIW.

When we would rent a car, the free Valet was awesome! Didn't mind tipping them a bit for that.

Loved the discount of course, but that valet and the fun events were the best, actually. I would buy the card if it were twice the price. My husband and I were always joking that the pandemic was the perfect excuse for this program to go away. Not sure it made that much money because we still dine out as much and use valet when available or heading to the resorts. Maybe it was a loss leader to get us on property so we would buy tons of stuff we don't need. lol

Loved our TiW experiences, which coincided with our AP Year.
2010/11 TiW ($75) all-in savings $160.
2012/13 TiW ($100) all-in savings $235.
2019/21 TiW ($150) all-in savings $407. Really used it a lot during the Covid extension!
