The second season started Saturday, and I'm wondering if anyone else here watches it. :)

I didn't watch the first season but watched this one because I am a fan of Marty Slayton. It was a good show.

I came into the first season about 2/3 of the way through, but I was so happy for Buddy Jewel. :D I love his music! (I do wonder what happened to the 2nd and 3rd place winners, though -- I'd love to hear more from John Michael Martinez, too!)

This season has a lot of good singers. :) My mom and I both really liked the washboard guy (Matt something) -- quite humorous, but with a great voice, too. And the really cute kid, though I forget what his name was.

yep, dh andi watched it. i think this season's gonna be great. i liked the washboard guy too. :p

I love the show! I watched all of last year's episodes. The talent is much better than what you see on AI, although I like that show too.

But will be watching this year for SURE!::yes:: It is a LOT better than AI, and now I am hooked!;)

I'm a fan too! I started watching last season when they were down to the final three. I hadn't even heard of the show and only saw it by accident. I couldn't wait for this season to start. I watch A.I. also, but Nashville star has much more talented people. Having to write their own songs and most of them play an instrument as well. Wow! I like washboard guy (Matt) and also the Irish guy (Mal). The really cute kid was Brent Keith. I like him also. I wasn't all that fond of any of the girls though.

(Whoops, it was John ARTHUR Martinez, not John Michael Martinez, from last season. But whatever. :) )

I only liked two of the girls -- the one who did the Joleen song, and the one who was the back-up singer. The rest weren't really bad, but none of them "got" me like some of the men did (like Matt's voice!)

I only caught about a half hour last night when it was being shown again. My favorite is Brent Keith. His voice was beautiful, and he is very easy on the eyes. ;) I hope he makes it because I would love to have a CD of his.::yes::

I finally watched my tape of it tonight. I liked all of the top 10 contestants. My favorite is the single mom(she sang the Joleen song)....Brent was really good too.

I missed the first season when it was on its regular night, but after it was over one of the cable channels had a "marathon" and I watched that, really LOVED Buddy Jewell and was SO HAPPY he won and he's done so well now with his new career.

Watched the first episode of the second season, and I'm hooked. Not sure who I want to win yet, will watch a few more shows before I decide that I guess.

It was neat to see Clint Black give Buddy his gold record!! :)

I *loved* watching Buddy get his gold record. He deserved it -- such a beautiful voice and I *love* his songs. I'm ready for Buddy's second album to come out. :)

I don't know who I want to win this season yet, either -- such great talent in the top 10 this year!

I love the show and I'm not really even a C&W Fan. It just has so much more talent than American Idol. These folks can write their own songs, play an instrument, and perform! SHEILA MARSHALL is my favorite and performs here alot in Texas and I'm hoping she will win, but there is alot of competition this year.

I did pick Buddy Jewell from the get go last season and am so happy they loved him too.

Can't wait to see the episode tonight and see who remains after tonight, too....

So.....what did y'all think about tonight's show??? I loved it!!! Jennifer got 3 votes, Brent got 1, and Lance got 1. I was really disappointed that they sent Gregory home. I did like her voice...even if she doesn't have the new country look  Really aggravates me when they base talent on looks more than vocals. I would have sent the goofy guy home first. I've been skeptical most of the week when others have said the contestants on this show have more talent than those on American Idol, but after watching the whole show tonight...I have to agree! I think the reason is that country music is so hard to break into versus pop. I also believe that age and maturity place a big part in the talent base of this show. They aren't teenagers trying to get 15 minutes of fame. They want real careers in the music business.

That's my .02 for the evening :teeth:

Tonight was a great episode! Although I didn't care for her last week, I loved Stacie Michelle's performance! George Canyon from Canada was wonderful too. They were my favorites tonight, although I do enjoy Brent Keith and Mal Rodgers as well.

I thought it was the right choice to send Gregory home last night. She just didn't perform well or up to her potential. Although I believe that every woman should be able to have a family and career; it looked as though Mommyhood was taking it's toll on her. Just poor timing to get such a break. It's unfortunate.

I still love Sheila Marshall though and am glad she's still around. I hope she got enough viewer votes to change the mind of Tracy Gershan. I think of her like Garth Brooks doing the Country/Rock edge. Look at how successful he is!!

I'm ready for the guy in the overalls to go home, too. He just didn't choose the right song and didn't impress me in the slightest. He's got originality, but just not Star quality.

Looking forward to the coming weeks for sure ;)

I missed it on Saturday, but was able to catch the rerun tonight.

My favorite tonight by far was the Canadian George (???). The last guy to go. He was great. I also loved Marty (the backup-singer trying to go on her own) and she's who I would have voted for if I could have voted, because there are a lot of good male singers out there right now but not as many females I really love. And even though y'all may not have liked him, I still enjoyed Matt. But I'm also a huge Marty Robbins fan and think we need more good ballads like that. But at the same time, I do agree that I don't think he's quite *Star* material. I'd go see him for the fun of it, but not for the same reason I'm going to see Brooks & Dunn or would go see George Strait. I would like Matt to hang around a few more weeks, though, because he is a lot of fun. :)

I wasn't too impressed with Gregory and, sorry, I think her place was with her baby right now. I personally think she shouldn't have come. If it'd been a couple of months, maybe, but to come perform less than a month after having the baby... Eh, I'm glad she's going home to be with her baby. Try again next season, Gregory. :)

Well, we've got another episode on tonight at 9pm CST- anyone watching?? I so hope my girl, Sheila Marshall does well. I do love George Canyon though, too. I'm waiting to see who can perform the love/heartache songs and make them their own and not turn it into just another karaoke show copying the original artist. Sheila has the "edge" I'm looking for so far, but I'm looking forward to watching tonight and see who impresses me the most.

Definitely looking forward to the show tonight!!
