Any men wearing Crocs?

Last time I was at WDW, I noticed that I was the only female wearing Crocs. However, I noticed several males wearing them. I attributed this to the idea that women are more into not wearing what's ugly (face it, Crocs are ugly) and yet men are more into comfort.

When we were there a couple of weeks ago, we noticed a handful of people (women & girls) wearing these awful shoes. Then one morning at the bus stop a whole family had them on, two little girls, mom and yup, even dad. It gave us a good chuckle to begin the day with :teeth: .

My husband got khaki colored Beach Crocs and I got Purple Beach Crocs and lime green Nile Sandal Crocs. We really don't care about what they look like. We are not very stylish people, we are just into being comfortable. I like the most comfortable stuff for the least amount of money. I stopped caring about what my clothes looked like after living at 8,000 feet in Montana and everything is for comfort and warmth, no one really cared what you were wearing and even if you wore designer clothes people would not know who the designer is or care and they would just make fun of you for dressing up when it is below zero outside. We live in the city now and I kind of miss the more casual environment. It's so much easier to throw on jeans and a t-shirt!

I've been curious about crocs and have one questions. Has anyone worn them in the heat and humidity of a WDW summer? The thing that keeps me from purchasing them is the fact that they are plastic and the thought of my feet sweating and sliding around in them all day not to mention the odor, are my fears well founded? I normally alternate between a pair of Tevas and a pair of Birks and crocs are cheaper. I kinda like the loud colors :) . What style(s) would you recommend?

They work great. I wear socks with mine sometimes. Keep in mind they dont make your feet stink. I like them better than my birks. I have two pairs (kaki and green) with the holes in the toe. :teeth:

When I got mine, DH made fun of me (they're hot pink) until he started playing with them. He couldn't believe they were so light and squishy. So, we found him a pair right before our trip. He got light grey ones, and switched them out with his athletic shoes during the week. He hasn't worn them since we've been home, other than to wash the car, but he really liked them for WDW.

DStepson (20 something) - Said there was 0% chance he'd wear them and sends me links to clown shoe sites as a joke. Not ordering him any.

:lmao: Too funny!

I think they are ugly, and anyone who wears them looks ridiculous. I still have 3 pairs and wear them all the time! Crocs are one example of comfort winning out over style. DH laughs at mine and DD's all the time. He really liked the clown shoe links!

I bought a pair of Caymans to try out, thinking that if they were as comfortable as advertised, I would wear them to WDW.

Well, after wearing them for a couple of weeks, I just ordered a black pair with no holes to wear to work every day. As the previous poster said, I want to be able to wear crocs any time that i'm not sleeping.

My DH looked at me like I was crazy when I bought mine and reluctantly he got some. He never takes them off. He got the Khaki color and I think they look less ugly on him then they do on me. Go figure!!

Hubby purchased a pair of black Caymen's and has been wearing them arround the house. (He hasn't worn them out in public yet)......
but..... HE IS GOING TO WEAR THEM TO DISNEYWORLD IN 2 WEEKS......
Both myself and DD are going to wear our crocs too so he won't feel goofy in them..... they are VERY comfy and I wear mine out in public all the time.

Who knows... maybe we will meet other croc wearers in the world!!!

DS6 and I are both Croc lovers - I have several different colors of Beach style and 1 pair of red Niles. DS6 has 3 colors of Beach (black, red & lime green!). DH has been making fun of them since I first bought my very first pair (about a year ago). DS6 decided he wanted to give daddy a pair for his birthday - the difficult part of this is that we were on the Disney Magic ship for DS's birthday. We arranged a gift basket to be delivered to the ship (via The Perfect Gift in Cape Canaveral) and sent the crocs to be included.

Now for the funny part - we spent a couple days at WDW before the cruise. Standing in line at Soarin' DS6 notices that the entire family standing in line in front of us are wearing crocs - even the dad! He was all excited and jumping up and down and pointing them out to his daddy :) We ended up having a whole conversation with that family about Crocs... I think DH figured out what he was going to be getting for his b-day - but he was nice and pretended to be surprised.

He doesn't wear them often - but he did wear them a few times on the cruise and to the beach. He wears them around the house a little and I think once the weather warms up he may wear them for gardening. He has agreed to bring them to WDW in June to at least wear to the pool and water parks. Since he may be the most conservative person I know when it comes to clothing and appearance I think I can say - if he'll wear crocs, almost ANY guy will wear crocs!

My husband swore he would never wear such ridiculous looking shoes (my sons wear them regardless of temp, rain you name it) until... we took the kids sailing before x-mas and happened upon one very famous bike rider and his ex rock and roll girlfriend at a restaurant on Jost Van ****. Well you know what our bike riding hero was wearing (they unfortuantely weren't yellow!!). Funny - my DH came home and bought himself a pair. I have never said a word about it. Too funny

I kept reading about "crocs" on this site and decided to purchase a pair and I love them and can't wait to try them out at WDW in August. I got a pair of black and red beach crocs and I just ordered a pair of sea blue niles, which has not been delivered yet. My DS16, admittedly into comfort, made fun of my black crocs (they were the first ones ordered) until he tried them on and he kind of liked them so I ordered him a pair and he loves them. We will living is comfort.

In my opinion, while they look bad enough on women and girls, they look particulary ridiculous on men and boys. Sorry they may be comfortable, but its not a good look, especially on males. I would rather have comfort AND fashion.

I told my DH about people raving over them and he flat out refused... until we spent all day at Disney and he was DYING the next day. He said fine, I'll go try on a pair- but I'm not promising anything, so they better be freaking amazingly comfortable. Went shopping and he bought them... but stated "only for Disney- I won't be seen in 'public' with the ugliest shoes in the world" (we're passholders BTW- go often during non-peak periods).
Guess what? Now he pretty much wears them on a daily basis. "It's worth it, they're so darn comfortable!" Throws them on whenever possible LOL.
We also think they aren't so ugly anymore... I think the comfort may be going to our heads. And our kids think they are quite fashionable.
Family Crocs:
Me- Pink
DH- Khaki
DD8- Lime Green
DD7- Pink
DS2- Navy (Payless version)

After reading all these Croc threads I had to jump on the bandwagon and order myself a pair. When I first laid eyes on the Crocs after they arrived I thought, "oh my GOD!!! who on earth would wear those hideous things?" I put them back in their box and shipped them immediately back to the company I had ordered them from! Well, I still kept on reading the Crocs threads and wondering about those delirious people who had obviously been overcome by some mental state that suppressed their ability to think clearly. I decided to order another pair and at least try them on this time. Well, the darned things didn't fit! They were too small! I sent them back and exchanged them for a larger pair.....WAY TOO LARGE!!!! Okay, back they go, I give up! Crocs are ugly and I'm not wasting another minute worrying about it....But....I kept reading the Crocs threads and learned that you can stretch Crocs in the dryer and get a nice fit out of a pair that "seems" too small at first.....hmmmmmm.....so I order another pair and pop them in the dryer....wow...they DO fit!......but these are black and boring.....I'll order some pink ones....these are just too cute.....I'll order some lime green ones.....I guess I should have some white ones for those days I'm not feeling so bold.....well, I DO have a lot of orange in my wardrobe....I guess I'll order just one more pair in orange...These are just TOO CUTE!!!! Did you know they have turquoise? I've GOT TO HAVE TURQUOISE!!!! Well, here I sit less than one month after sending back my first HIDEOUS pair of Crocs. I have a closet FULL of Crocs and I am wearing my Turquoise Crocs as I type and they are just the cutest shoes I have ever owned!!!! Can someone please explain to me what has happened to me? At what point was I overcome by the power of the Croc? Have I entered into a new dimension where I find it acceptable to throw away the stylish little strappy sandal and instead wear the box they came in? Are Crocs really beings from another world who are taking over our planet one foot at a time? Hmmmmmm...definitely something to ponder, isn't is?

:lmao:

Everyone mentions how ugly these things are and I guess I've gotten old enough now I just don't care how my shoes look. I'd rather be able to walk in them and not just sit around looking fashionable like some of the other "strappy sandals" out there :confused3 .

My husband's Crocs arrived today and he has been wearing them ever since he got home and tried them on! They look good on him! I think men can carry it off even better than women! His Crocs are black. He is wearing them right now with his sweats, but when he got home from work he had on his dark business suit and they looked fine with that too! I can't wait to see him wearing his Crocs with shorts! He has terrific legs! He will look awesome! :cheer2:
