I just made the decision to return for my MBA starting in January (2004), and will be taking my GMAT's in May. I'm not so much nervous about the Master's program (I know that I'll need it for my long-term goals), but rather very nervous about the GMAT's - fear of the unknown more than anything. Are there any MBA graduates out there that can give some advice/hints/tips on the GMAT's?

Sorry - Just a MS, not an MBA. The only thing I have heard suggested for the GMAT's is a study course geared toward the test. That way you have practice with the format and the types of questions.

Good luck!

I have my MBA, but it's been so long, I don't remember that much about the GMAT! I'm sure you'll do fine!

Debi, I do not have one...but I am thrilled you are going after yours! You will do awesome!:D

Any suggestions on where I can go for an MBA study course, LIDisneyFan?

I took my GMAT about 15 years ago I know that it as changed (you now need to write an essay I guess).

The one thing did find handy was a book I found in a book store the night before I took the test. It was very small and had a few interesting thing to remember. Such as, when a question began with a certain work, the answer is usually D or something like that. But I'm sure there are many good study guides out there.

Also, get some quite time and take a practice test at least once. Do it exactly as you will take the test. This will be the best way you can spend four hours.

Don't be affraid of it. I currently teach in an MBA program and can't figure out how some of these people wrote thier name.

Good Luck.

I didn't take the GMAT, but I did take another type of test (it's been a couple years, can't remember the exact name). I bought a guide, which helped, but admittedly I didn't devote enough time to it. Nowadays they include practice CD's, which I think would make it easier to study.

When I actually took the test, it was at a Sylvan Learning Center, and it was all computerized. Be prepared to have the school's info handy (where you want it sent). Also, since the tests are held at Sylvan, maybe you could check with them (or wherever they conduct the tests in your area) to see if they have practice exams or courses?

Congratulations!

Thanks, everybody! :)
