Any Magic Halloween Cruisers 2003 out there?

You know I hadn't even thought about where to stay the night before. I know I want to get there at least in the 24th, as I don't want to dirve down the day off. HOw is the Radisson? I just figured at the last minute I'd hop on priceline and grab a room. Would you recommend not doing that? Am I risking not having a room? Whats the rate at Rad?

hey buzz&woodys mom, what type of minivan did you end up getting? Before I decided on the subdivision! LOL I looked at like a fully loaded Sienna, and Geesh that was just as expensive as the Expedition.

You should go ahead and book the Raddison. The rate with the Floribbean code when I called last month was $99 for 2 doubles and a non-smoking room. Last year they released the FALL code and we got the same room for $59 so I think it will go down but at least you will have a room.

How old will the baby be when you sail, is the baby going? The one thing I did not like about the Radisson was when I requested a crib for my son they brought a old narrow wooden crib thing and he was miserable all night and cried which made myself, my DH and DS (4) tired the next day. He was 16 months last October and is HUGE and he could not turn over or move. Of course on the ship they provided a Graco pack n play like we have that we use when we visit Nana and he slept 12 hours plus each night :)

I just wanted to thank you all for being such a great and optimistic group of people and I really look forward to meeting you all in person. You are a fun group and a nice group.

That thread earlier today about "being blessed" to be able to travel on the DCL still has me upset. For the life of me I will never, ever be able to understand whiners or those who are always negative or can't let go..............

I know you all get sick of me and my "melanoma and aneurysm stories" but Tuesday I am having my first surgery since the aneurysm 22 months ago and I am scared to death (ok,kl bad choice of words). I really am, last time I was on the operating table I was fighting to live and so was my wonderful 22 month old DS :(

I have to have this surgery and know that it will be ok but I am terrified and just want it done. I will be checking in after Tuesday when I can but will have a long recovery. So keep the thread alive and going so I can read and smile...........

I am sorry I did not see the mini van ? until after I posted. I ended up with the Ford Windstar SLE which was $$$$ but Ford offered the 0% financing last summer and after I signed a contract to my DH in blood that I would not ask for another car for 10 years  he agreed.............I really do love it. It has a ton of room, leather interior, fold down 3rd row, automatic doors and the entertainment system which I LOVE!!!! I better love it bc according to my DH I will be driving it when I am a senior citizen.

My friends do tease me but then they ride in it and think it is a practical family car. I also like the way the car seat and booster seats fit snugly in the 2nd row captain chairs.

Sending many prayers and PD your way!!!

I had no idea you were having a surgery this upcoming week :-( Sorry to hear that, will send prayers your way :-) Also I have nevere even read anything from you about annuerism or melonma, so you must not be posting about it much, and who cares if you do. I thought we were all becomin friends here ? :-) You should go read my post over on the CB about being denied short term disability for the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy! Apparently by saying I am pregnant and tired in the same sentence (as to why I want to be on leave) I have caused the womans movement to be shoved back 30 years

I didn't even tell you all that here. Yes my case manager called me today, and says that she doesn't hve enuff med. evidence to aprrove me being paid until the baby is born :bounce: Isn't that just great? So, I have a DR appt on monday, and she pretty much told me that unless I am beginning to dilate or efface, that I will need to go back to work if I want to be paid. I was very surprised at the number of people on the CB that said they agree with that. Oh well, to each their own. SO unless something is happening on Monday, I will be going back to work on Tuesday LOL

The baby should be around 5 months old when we sail, and at this time we are planning on leaving him behind. NOt sure if I will be able to though, after we get to know him, KWIM? My DH really doesn't want to bring him along tho, so we will prob stick to the original plan and leave him with my MIL. I just told DH that is fine, it just gives me a reason to go again. Because my older 2 will have taken 2 cruises, and my youngest now will have only have been on 1, and the baby on none. SO I will have to go on 1 with the 2 of them
:smooth: hehe I'm slick like that

Does anyone know what chains are available on priceline near the port?

No Tiff - we aren't sick of your stories - girl, we are all friends here - friends who share and care about each other! Please remember that! And of course we will be praying for you, especially this week! You just get in there with a positive attitude and remember God is with you and so are our prayers!

In reference to the "blessings post" - the person deleted ALL their posts, but suffice it to say that anyone who can't feel any blessings in their life, well, it's more likely a depression than anything else. The person needs professional help and I'm trying to be helpful, not a smart aleck about it.

dzneprincess - we could all write letters to your case manager and explain how we feel you need to stay home with pay until Rae Jr. is born. And if Rae Jr. doesn't go on the trip, then we will all just have to plan another cruise together.

Hey, Andy - you're almost 48 now....how does it feel?

Rae

rae, I was just cracking up at his comment about respecting elders!!!!!!!! I just thought OHHHHHHHH hes gonna get it!!!!!!!! LOL YOu 2 are too funny about that shrimp! BTW your comeback was just lovely....have you inquired with Guest services about that wheelchair for him yet?? hehe

Well, as long as your all writting letters, why stop at the case manager? Just go all the way to the CEO of the company, and explain why i need the next 25 years off with pay ?? (just enough time to get retirement) hehe
:smooth:
But really, I will do what I need to do, and if that is go back to work on Tuesday, than so be it :-) At least I have had a nice week off, and I will be paid for 3 of those days :-)

Tiff, you got my interests piqued at that "blessed" thread, so I hopped over there and read. I didn't see any posts from the one who people were getting so upset about. Were they really that bad? I do have a confession to make though, unfortunately I am a bit of a worry-wart. SO while I know that I am blessed, I worry about things ALOT. So reading a post like that, reminds me that all is ok in my life, and things could be much worse.

Well Rae, my bones are creeking, my teeth are falling out, my hearing is gone, my memory, wait a minute, what was I saying, oh well, 48 has never looked better, LOL!!!

That wheelchair, I might be needing it soon with these worn out knees of mine, LOL!!!

Andy(the "old" verandah man)

My first daughter Kristen, was still born on this day, April 19, 26 years ago, the day before my 22nd birthday. I don't remember that birthday very much. Does your mom know that April 30th is Adolph Hitler's birthday, one of my younger brother's birthday is also April 30th, he will be 43 this year.

With a 12 year old in the house, I don't feel like I'm 48, well, not most of the time. LOL!!!

dzneprincess - the poster is a very depressed woman who has a habit of posting something then erasing it if it's disagreed with. Long history there, and not worth any of our time.

UNLIKE your comend about "you could be my parents"!!!! SHEESH! Nothing like making the "old Man" feel older and as for me, I am probably feeling older than your grandparents!!!!

Andy - they have a beach wheelchair at Castaway Cay I will rent for you. Have you ever tried shrimp puree? Better keep your teeth!!!!

Happy Easter everyone and especially to my pal, Andy - again - Happy Birthday!

Too bad raising kids didn't make us younger!

Good Morning All:wave:

I hope everyone had a great holiday, we did.

About the Radisson, I booked a 2 king size bed suite. It has a living room with T.V, desk, pull out sofa, a kitchen area including microwave, frig, table and chairs. Then there is a bedroom with 2 king size beds and a large whirlpool tub in the bedroom and of course a bathroom. A very nice set up, the going rate is $119. per night. I was quoted this price using my AAA club membership. Last year it was only $99. I am hoping the rates will go down before we go. I wouldn't wait till the last minute to book, but I am a planner and like to have all my ressies made well in advance.

hmmmmmm ginger, there being 5 of us, that room might be a better option than getting 2 rooms. Are there alot of these types of rooms? I have AAA also.

Well all I have had a crappy weekend. Yesterday morning, we had a plumbing emergency in our kitchen. It looks as though a drain pipe from our kitchen/laundry room has busted. Our sink was getting backed up, and washing machine was backing up also. :( We thoguht at 1st it was clogged, so we went looking around the house for an access point or something. We noticed that in the front yard was a puddle of water that smelt like laundry detergent  So I have a call into the plumber, he will be coming later this afternoon. I just pray to God that it is not as bad as it seems. Because right now I am just imaging the worst. This house is only 12-13 years old. We have been living here for 6 years, and this is the 1st time something so drastic has happened. I am just really down right now. I had just stripped all our beds of the linens and bedspreads, and they were on the laundry room floor. ALong with all our dirty clothes! Which were piled up, I normally wash on the weekeds :-( SO my dh took a couple of loads to a friends to wash last night, we can dry them here. He mostly did all the clothes, but I still have 4 wet bedspreads and sheets to go, as well as towels from all the water we had to sop up :-( I need cheering up today. Have any of you been thru this or something like it before? If so please share.

Mom, Michael and Tom were all sick but when Michael got sick - it went all over the room and into his underbed drawers, so I had to wash EVERYTHING (walls, carpet, bedding, and clothes in the drawers under his bed).

Does that help, dzneprincess?

What about the time we came home from late Church on Saturday night and had no water at all? Had to use "outdoor" plumbing, bottled water for drinking, washing, etc., for two days til it was fixed......

How about that one?

Hey, kid - I think mine are minor compared to your disaster this weekend, but if they help you - then good!

ALSO, I am seriously considering staying at WDW for 2-3 days prior to this cruise. Anyone else planning this?

Rae

Sorry to hear about your plumbing problems DP. Our house is over 60 years old and we have lived here for 10 years. I have experienced alot of plumbing problems, I've learned to take it in stride. My pet peeve is when DH doesn't check the oil which heats the house and the hot water. It never fails that we run out while he is out of town. The furnace has to be primed to get it started again and that is something I don't want to learn, YUKE!

Not sure how many Kingbed suite the Rad has. I'll post their number as soon as I get Ashley to school. I have to look for it.
