Any Jersey people goin for Jersey week?

"Jersey Week" is the first week in November. The teachers here have their convention the first Thursday & Friday in November (this years it's the 7 & 8). ALL the schools are closed at least those two days (with the exception of private and catholic schools). The last few years, the schools where I live have either been closed that whole week, or open that Monday (dumb) then off the rest of the week. This year we have school on Monday, the 4th, then we're off till the 12! We'll be there from the 4-11!

Hi everyone! Our school district is off for the 1st time this year for the entire week. Usually we only have Teachers convention days off (7th & 8th). But this year we have Nov. 4 - 8. We planned this trip in July after receiving the school calendar. I could only get a flight out of Newark for Friday, Nov. 1 using mileage plus seats. The United/Delta agents asked me, "What was going on in Florida that week", because all the direct flights for Nov. 1 -12th were full!!! I have to take the kids out of school for one day. But, now we get to go to MNSSHP on Nov 1st, the last night of the bounce:
Hope to see you all there. Thinking about wearing a lime ribbon, I'll see what happens!!

I will be there with my mom and DD 11/5 - 11/12. Our schools are closed 11/6, 11/7 and 11/8 so DD will miss 3 days of school. Hope she doesn't have too much work to make up! Six more weeks until we are in Disney!

Well, we currently hold Disney reservations for Nov 3 - NOv 8 but we're debating whether we should visit Washington instead and save money for a cruise next year. I'm trying to find out when Convention is next year.

It's hard to decide but I really would like to visit the World but then we'd have to hold off the cruise for two years.

We leave on 11/2 and come back on 11/10. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. I can hardly wait!

You are all so lucky. We went Nov of 2000. Just couldn't afford it this year. Hoping for next year though!!!!! While we were there in 2000, we were all just seated in CoP. The CM asked who was from Jersey. Half of the audience raised their hands. He then said-- I heard they closed the state for this week. It was really funny to see how many Jersey families were there. Also while we were walking around we saw about 7 different families that we knew. Didn't even know some of them were going to Fla.!!!

Oh, , I wish I knew about Jersey Week sooner. I just booked my trip for the first week in October. Well, there's always next year, or.. next month. Hmmmm.

I'm from North Brunswick, about 50 minutes west of Spring Lake. I was just at the beach the other day with my children at Belmar which is right next to Spring Lake. SL is a beautiful community! Lots of old victorial beach houses!!

Our schools are only closed Thursday 7th & Friday (Sussex Co.). Would love to go now that we are AP holders, but DS has HS football game on Friday night! I don't think he'd forgive me if I took other DS! Oh well-we'll just have to wait for our Christmas WDW trip! Hope all you fellow NJ Disney fans have great trips!
