Hi All!
I am so happy I found you guys
I just joined on Tuesday. Tomorrow is my first week weigh-in!
So far its going pretty well (I think), its taken me awhile to adjust to less food

and no more daily Mochas. But I am getting it.
I love hearing about how others have/are doing on Jenny! Have any of you vacationed on Jenny? I have about 2 months til our summer trip (not Disney). And next week is my birthday, so I am not sure how that will effect me.
My family is big on cake.
Congrats to you guys! Its soo exciting. I can't wait to see the scale going down
Congratulations on joining Jenny Craig! I hope your weigh-in went well. Whatever the case, the JC counselors are wonderful about helping with adjusting to less food (add veggies, add "free" foods, plenty of hydration) and about planning for events and potential hazards.
We go to WDW pretty often, including since I joined Jenny. We also did our first
Disney cruise in late February/early March and I lost weight! The key factors for me with a Disney trip (and really anything involving food) are planning ahead. Look at the menus on
www.allearsnet.com and make meal plans before you leave on your trip. If you need additional help planning without feeling punished, bring the menus to one of your weigh-ins and get help planning ahead. I pick a lot of restaurants based on their healthy options available, and I've had a lot of success with entree salads (dressing on the side) at Disney. That way, you get plenty of veggies, sometimes fruits, and you can limit the intake of fats, proteins and starches. They have lots of good, interesting salads available if you search ahead of time. I frequently bring breakfast with us, just to be sure I don't end up with a calorie killer breakfast picked up in a hurry on the way to the parks.
Another thing that works for me is making sure I have some great Jenny snacks with me - when the smell of popcorn is driving me crazy or everyone is eating ice cream cones or cookies or cupcakes, I have Jenny popcorn or cheese curls or keep the Jenny toffee cookies handy. With the extreme heat in Florida, you do have to watch items that melt easily, but having "safe" treats handy helps with the cravings or the feeling of being punished.
Of course, you do a LOT of walking at Disney, so it helps when you stay really active and put a bunch of mileage on your feet during the trip. If you end up with a little more calorie intake than you would have normally, add to your activity level.
Good luck with your birthday celebrating! A few options you might try are asking your Jenny counselor what an appropriate serving of cake would be, or you could have one of the Jenny cakes or cheesecakes ready and your family can have cake while you eat your Jenny treat. If your family is insisting that you have some of your birthday cake, you and your Jenny counselor can explore some cake options that might pack a little smaller punch in the fat and calorie department. Whatever you're facing, folks at Jenny are usually extremely helpful in helping you figure out the best options and strategies, and it's all about planning ahead.
I've lost 60 pounds since mid-August of 2010, and I've been at Disney more times than I can count during that period. It's all about planning and taking advantage of the support team you have available. You can do it!
