Any info on this hotel would be appreciated. Are the club level rooms any different than the regular rooms?

Hi - DH and I stayed there in September for 9 nights. Our room was on the 8th floor - it was a good size with a huge king bed that goes down as the comfiest I've ever slept in. There was a nice big relaxing chair, desk etc and armoir with TV. Bathroom was great - bath, shower ( really powerfull ) sink with loads of room, hairdryer, loads of towels etc. Even had coffee maker in room. All in all we were really impressed.
The hotel itself is lovely, really nice bright reception area - there is a bar and restaurant. There is also convention rooms but we were never aware of any extra people! Pool area is great - plenty of longers and towels - there is a gym ( sorry, had too good a holiday to try it out! )
Plenty of car parking spaces, lovely staff and there is even an unlimited refill mug ( Tiki Cup ) if you want. We also were impressed with the location of the hotel - right on the corner of Sand Lake Road/ Universal Boulevard. 5-10 mins walk to the heart of I Drive and the hotel lays on courtesy buses to the theme park.
We hope to book another trip for next year and would have no hesitation staying at the Crowne Plaza Universal again. Thumbs up!!! Hope this helps - sorry I can't answer your ? on club rooms.

Thanks alot for your reply! If anyone knows where I can get a really good rate for this hotel, please let me know.

We stayed here in June and booked through Hotwire at a terrific rate of $57 a night. When we arrived we were upgraded, no charge to a tower room. The rooms are spacious and pretty, very clean. The staff at this property was outstanding! I hope to stay there again sometime.

We booked our trip through USARooms.co.uk/ com - we payed around £40 per night. Looking at your countdown clock you are heading to Orlando in about 3 weeks. I put in dates around that time and the price in $ is coming in at $70 per night. It is certainly the cheapest that I've come across.
Hope this helps, enjoy your trip. :Pinkbounc

Jess-
Do you remember the stars/icons for Hotwire? $57 is great. The best I can find is $80 for the end of Dec. and that is from a friend. Quickcheck on TripAdvisor was at least 90. Hotwire is kind of a shot in the dark.

:wave2:

This is what it came up when I booked it.
4* Crowne Plaza Universal
Customer Favorite
Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business Center, Laundry

It always comes up customer favorite and has some reviews.
Good Luck! Hope ya get it (find it too).

Thanks Jess, you're the best! How do you remember all of this stuff? I'm getting everything but the 'Customer favorite' for $57. They have PBH for 201. Now my buddy is telling me that Sheraton Studio City at 80 w/tax is the way to go. He says it has more character. You and I both know that whereever we stay they'll have characters! Do you think CPU lost the customer favorite designation? BTW none have Cust Fav.

What kind of fee does hotwire charge? I know they add this (along with the taxes) after you pick the hotel that you want but have never used them before.

They don't charge extra. They get their cut out of the price they list. FYI, I didn't get CPU. I got Rosen Plaza for $57 or $70 with tax.
You are 2 weeks from AKL today and Jess is 3 weeks from AKL today. Jambo!:wave2:
