Any incentives for DVC?

We are going to WDW in April and I've booked BCV 2 bedroom for my family for two nights at the end of our Polynesian stay. Of course BCV is Arm/Leg for the two nights, but since we are 4 kids, 2 adults and our youngest will be 2 this year we are soon to exceed maximum allowed in a single room, but too young (and I'm too cheap) for 2 adjoining rooms. It's time to consider DVC for real. From what I'm told we will really like the two bedroom villas, and the addition of a kitchen and W/D are big plus's.

So, question is, does DVC have any incentives for my looking at/purchasing in terms of our upcoming stay at BCV? Anything? We will likely purchase BCV, not AKV or SSR

Of course I'm trying to rent points instead of paying rack rate, but not having a lot of luck so far.

Only incentives for purchasing right now are AKV and SSR.

I call my 4th child my DVC kid. He was definately the reason we purchased. DVC is great for a family of 6. I never could convince myself to purchase when we were a family of 5 and could stay in one room at a Deluxe Resort. Of course now I look back and wish we had purchased earlier.

lol i consider our 4th as the add on kid. cause of her we need to add on now since we will need to have a 2 bedroom after this year

You can't buy BCVs from Disney anymore. It is only available through resale. We just purchased a 75 point BCV contract through the timeshare store and plan on going every 2 years with that (by banking and borrowing points).

Oh, and you will love the 2 bedrooms! We rented October 06 from a DVC member, and were hooked!

Disney may have an inventory of points for sale at any DVC resort, it just depends how many points they have on hand. Disney can acquire points at "sold out" resorts in a few ways. Foreclosure for non-payment of mortgage, right of first refusal when a contract is sold, etc. It never hurts to ask if they have have any BCV points available. If buying through Disney, you'd still need to purchase the 160 point minimum for an initial contract, no matter which resort you decide upon. As far as I know, though, there are currently no discounts or sales incentives for any resorts except SSR & AKV.

They may or may not have any BCV points available when you want to purchase, but it never hurts to ask.

But you usually cannot get the cash discount on points for resorts other than SSR and AKV.

Sorry, I incorrectly thought they used those points for member add ons.:confused3

You were not incorrect in that they do use those for member add ons as well as being available to someone who wants to purchase the 160 point minimum buy in. As others have said - it all depends on whether they have any to sell as a result of ROFR or foreclosures. If a person is insistent and wants to go on a waiting list it seems they can usually get those points in a few months. Since there are no incentives for BCV a resale contract may be the best way to go.

Are there still incentives for buying into AKV?? We were planning to buy but cannot find out if there are any incentives still around. I just got off the phone with DVC and no one there could help me. My DH and I were planning to buy at the end of the month but may wait if no incentives.

I believe the incentives for AKL are on through 1/31. Ten dollars off per point and/or depending on how many points you purchase you can also get developers points. I just got the information for my sister in law. I believe it is a choice of which incentive.
