My crew on this trip consists of me, dd5, dd2, my nanny, and her ds2. On our final day, we have a 8:35PM flight home. I think we can do a free late check out of 1pm. Any ideas for the best way to pace ourselves that day or handle naps? Should we see if we can pay for a late (6pm) check out or have the kiddos do naps in their strollers at a park? We could always sleep in that morning, take advantage of our resort room that morning (CSR) and do a waterpark?

I remember Epcot being a great park to have downtime and get the kids to nap last year, but it's not a recommended park that morning.

I just worry that if we miss naps, there will be some melt downs at the airport... we land in Minneapolis at 11:30pm and then will probably spend the night there and make the 7 hour drive home the following day.

If you are using Magical Express, you will likely have a 5:30 pick-up time from the hotel.

Work backwards from there.

You will need to have supper before going to the airport (4:00 - 5:00)

You have about 4 hours to burn here. When do the kids usually nap? Can all nap in strollers? Do you have strollers for the nappers or do you rent in the parks?

I will often burn the last few hours at downtown disney. The kids can play with the lego, ride the carousel, maybe buy a new toy for the airport and plane.

Early Lunch due to early supper (11:00 - 12:00)

You can sleep in, play in the playground at the resort and hand out by tje pool until your checkout (say until 11:00) If you can get an even later checkout, go for it. Especially if it would cover the nap time.

I am doing this as we speak.....I am at the airport right now in Orlando and have an 8:10 flight.

I checked out of the hotel this morning and gave my bags to the concierge - I strategically packed them so I could access my warm clothes before leaving the hotel.

I headed over to EPCOT.....did all of my favourites, decided to do a sit down lunch at 1pm. Strolled around the world showcase (I even did a Kim Possible Mission) and just really had a leisurely day.

I headed back to the hotel at 3pm. I got changed and freshend up in the public washroom which was completely convenient and sat in the lobby until 5pm at which time my shuttle came. I did not feel rushed and I did not feel bored.

Got through check-in and security in minutes and not I am at the gate playing on my computer. My advice is to stay in the main terminal and don't tak ethe tram to the gates until an hour before. With all of the construction, there is very little to do over here. I should have had a sit down meal in the terminal and done some more browsing through the gift shops.

Granted I don't have 2 2 year olds but I think this plan would work nicely. The kids will sleep all the way home.

Hi FLvacationgirl. I thought I should write back and update you on my evening flight. The flight was late and so we didn;t leave until 9:30pm (was supposed to be 8pm). landed at midnight.

The kids on the plane were fussy for the first hour I would say and then it was all quiet amd when we landed most were asleep which made it difficult for parents who then had to carry the children and the carry-on luggage off the plane. These kids were so bagged they couldn't even open their eyes. So I am not sure a late flught would be my choice with little ones!
