DD will be 7, and wants a Sleeping Beauty Party. There are too many guests to have a slumber party. Last year we had a Princess party and played a game & made a craft based on each of the 6 princesses. I made a Sleeping Beauty doll cake where the cake is the dress. I figure I could make one this year where the doll is laying in a cake bed. I simply can't think of any games or activities with a definite Sleeping Beauty theme, and didn't find much by googling. Any ideas?princess:

I can remember a game from when I was a kid which might help. We had to sit in a circle and put our heads down - pretending to sleep. While our heads were down, an adult moved/removed some object in the room. .... you can make the game extremely easy or extremely hard depending on how obvious you make the item you choose to change. Then, the 'heads up' command is given (In your case, "Princesses Awake!" might work better) and you have to raise your hand, without shouting out the answer, when you discover the missing or moved object. Kids were called on in the order that their hands went up and the first person with their hand up with the right answer gets a point for that round. My Dad used to start with really easy ones and make them sequentially more and more difficult!

You could make "Princess Crowns"!princess: Every princess needs a crown of there own and that would make a good craft for you guys to do.

Have you checked on birthdaypartyideas.com yet? They have SOO much info there! :D

Maybe the girls could pretend to fall asleep, and the dog could come and "kiss" each one awake:jester:

I had a princess party for my 8 y/o this past year. I bought a disney princess poster and made tiny crowns to play pin the crown on any princess. the invitation was ona paper saying here ye here ye, princess sydney is turning 8. please join us in your favorite princess costume. It was very sweet 12 little girls all dressed as their favorite princess. We also did a dance contest, where each child got to dance to the disney princess song that went along with their costumes (cinderella to someday my prince will come) belle to be our guest etc. it was very sweet with a princess pinata, the parents couldnt believe how i entertained them for 3 hours, the kids had a great time.

To go along with the SLEEPING Beauty thing, how about buying some cheap white pillow cases and having the girls decorate them with paint? (Just don't use the puffy paints, or they'll all have lines on their little faces!)
These can be really fun, especially if you get some glow in the dark paint. Not necessarily Sleeping Beauty-but it follows with the sleeping part, no slumber party neccessary!
