Any hope for the digital camera and printer?

I just got a new HP Photoshare digital camera for my birthday and I have an Epson printer. Well, I can get the pictures to the computer but when it prints on photo paper it looks awful. It isn't glossy everywhere. Everything is new so I don't know what the problem would be. If I took some pictures to the place I bought it would they be able to tell me what I might be doing wrong? Any ideas?

Check the resolution on the camera. If it is set to 640x??? they will look pretty bad.... you want to set the camera to the highest setting.
My coworker got a digital camera back in August... and the factory setting was set for the lowest. She couldn't even print 4x6 photos ***They went to a huge family reunion in India and took over 400 photos... and not one could be printed....
