DH can't come to Florida with us so it's not a family vacation, but we are coming to Florida in November for a shuttle launch/WDW. Looking for homeschooling groups in the area that might have some special discounted events going on that we could participate in. In Houston, we see a lot of theatre shows and such and get discounted tickets because we buy so many tickets. Anyone know of a local group that might have some things going on in November/December? Ryan will be in 5th grade and Sean will be in 3rd.

Have you heard of Disney's Y.E.S. program? Since you are working this trip in with a shuttle launch, it might be fun to see if Disney has one of the physical science classes scheduled for that time. If they don't, you could try to schedule one. I haven't done this personally, but I have heard that people have scheduled these classes and then asked on the Orlando area homeschoolers yahoo group if anyone was interested in joining them. This helps get them up over the 10 students (I think that's the number anyway) needed for the program.

Here's a link to the programs offered.....

Thanks. I called and they only offer 2 days per year for homeschoolers. I guess the rest of the year is classes for public and private schools. It's interesting because here in Houston, the museums have homeschooling classes at least weekly. Maybe there are more of us here than in Florida. I'll just keep doing my own thing.
