Any guests arriving November 1 to 30 receive FP+ testing invites?

Which resort will you be staying at?

***Edit*** Can I ask that you all report which resort you are staying at, or at least if your resort was part of the testing in OCtober? Also, if you already have magic bands from an earlier stay, can you please say so? It's getting more confusing with the different permutations.

I was booked at BWI a non testing resort but switched to AKL on 9/9 which is a test resort for October fingers crossed

I should say MB not the reason I changed resorts but was happy to learn AKL was on the Oct list.

As far booking a ghost reservation to get the MB I think that is just crazy especially if you lose the ability to change the FP+ times once you were to cancel the Reservation, not to mention taking rooms out of inventory for someone who is trying to book their trip!

Nov 18-Dec 6 @ POFQ. I am hoping we will get to try the bands out and also want one for our Disney Infinity game, lol!

I totally agree it is against DIS policy!

Not only this but to me it's such a gamble. Just because it worked for others in the past doesn't mean it's guaranteed to still work in Novemember, and then if it doesn't you've just lost your money.

Besides in my opinion it's dumb to PAY to be apart of a TEST that everyone else invited is getting to do for FREE.

LOL, on the thread I referenced there is MUCH discussion on whether making a reservation then cancelling it is "ethical" but "working the system" this is a new angle.

I'm not getting into a debate on this subject. For those that want to do it, have at it, for those that don't, that's great too.

I was just answering someone's question as to whether FP+ would work if a reservation at a test resort was cancelled. If this is against DIS policy then you should report me.

I am rather surprised the Moderators haven't stepped in if the referenced thread is discussing something of this nature.

With the thread in question even being titled "The Ghost Pop reservation and MyMagic+" (no hiding what they're talking about there!) and the mods not touching I doubt they would close this one down for a few mentions of the same subject. Although I should add I hope the debate doesn't migrate to other threads too much ...

I apologize for bringing it up if it was a violation of this website's policy. I really didn't know, and I wouldn't have brought it up if I knew it was prohibited.

However, I've just got to say, are you serious?! These boards are all about how to work the system. That's why we come here. Which park to go to on which day, which rides to ride first, which resorts to stay at, etc. Are you telling me that no one on these boards ever suggested using fast passes after their expiration time? What about double-dipping or triple-dipping on fastpasses? What about buying gift cards at Target to save 10% on your trip? This board exists because we all want to work the system.

That said, please don't respond to this post. I don't want to hijack this thread. If there is a thread that discusses morality of ghost reservations or actions related to Disney, please point me (and others) there.

Now I see why when I log into MDE, it gives me a date I can schedule FP+ for my November stay at GFV ... I already have magic bands in hand for the test next week at YC. So, it looks like I am officially in the system. There's no turning back now ...

RO and then starting my Free DDP package on 11/30. I logged into MDE (can I just say how much I dislike this site!!) and when I click on FP+, a box pops up talking about the testing and if I'm not participating, I can use the regular FP system.

I cannot wrap my head around all of this. PP checking in same time as me said they were able to see dates when they clicked on FP+. Why can't I? I though the FP+ was not the same as the MB testing and was available to everyone?

Please help, I am so confused!!!!

Here is my experience. I just was able to access the dates of my trip, November 7-11, to schedule FP+. Like others, the white box popped up that I can still use regular fast pass if I'm not part of the test. I kept clicking FP+ until the screen came up to schedule FP+. I selected the first date of my trip and hit next. Then there was a little icon next to everyone in my party that said not my magic + eligible. It said I had to be my magic + eligible in order to schedule FP+. Boo! I'm staying at the Beach Club. I don't have our tickets linked yet (I was trying it out to see if it would work). I don't know if by linking our tickets it would magically make us my magic + eligible. I guess that will be my next plan of action. If not, then boo again!

Wen I click on FPP I get a list of days, but then it pops up and says the dates do not qualify.....but the dates are for today and this week...which I am obviously not scheduled to be there. Doing something wrong?

For me, the dates that popped up were dates in the middle of October. There was a little calendar icon, so I clicked it and then clicked the first day I'm going to be there. Then it changed the dates to that week. It showed me arriving at Beach Club that day and I clicked make FP+ selections. Then it took me to a screen where everyone in my travel party was listed, but by each of us it said not my magic + eligible.

when you say you kept clicking the FP+, do you mean repeatedly or you kept trying over and over? I get that box every time. So are you saying just keep trying? Thank you

Thank you moderator, I respect your decision. I would never knowingly violate any DIS policy however; I would like to point out why this is confusing to me. The September Invite thread has been discussing the ghost reservation issue for 4 weeks. There are over 100 pages since the room only/ghost reservation discussion began and hundreds of posts contain some reference to the subject. There have been many posts by DIS Veterans on the September thread (and other threads) disseminating the same information I provided here in a previous post that was deemed inappropriate. The September thread alone has 179 pages, and close to 154,000 views and I’ve read every page. Some posters have called the room only/ghost reservation unethical but I’ve not seen anyone reference the subject matter as inappropriate and against DIS policy.

There are threads on how to get the FP+ system to give you the bonus fp for MK, how to use FP- and FP+ at the same time (double dipping), how to get multiple FP- during the same time frame using old KTTW cards (triple+ dipping), and how to make a BOG reservation for lunch without having been invited. These are subjects that have only come to light in the past month. Refillable RFID mugs would have to be included in this as well.

I’m not saying these subjects do or do not violate a DIS policy. What I’m saying is I hope you understand my confusion in hearing today that a room only/ghost reservation is not appropriate when it and other similar subjects are discussed so freely throughout this forum.

So far nobody has been able to make FP+ selections or Customize Magic Bands that have a check in date after October 31st. Some people that already have Magic bands from a prior trip have been able to make FP+ selections for their trips because it seems like once you have a magic band "turned on" it doesn't get "turned off".

Everybody else referring to seeing november dates at first and then being told they don't qualify are seeing (what I believe to be) some sort of glitch in the system.
