Can anyone tell me a great place to go for pasta and a good dish that is not in Italybut somewhere in the world. My husband runs the marathon and half marathon every year and always wants to eat carbs the night before. I get tired of Italy every year. Any suggestions??

Portabella's in DTD. Great Sangria there also.

Spoodles, we went last month (pics in my signature) and the pasta was awesome. DH had the rigatoni with sausage and I had the lemon shrimp linguini...just fantastic

I had a great pasta dinner with artichokes at The Turf Club, located at Saratoga Springs Resort. Is was SPECTACULAR!

HAHA I saw this thread and when I first read tell me where to get good pasta I was like..Tutto Italia in Italy..then I saw the rest lol.

I have not had pasta anywhere else, just there. love it!

I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember hearing Mike Scopa from AllEars.Net and the WDW Today podcast saying that the night before the marathon & the half marathon, many/most WDW restaurants offer a pasta dish for those who wish to carb up. You could always go to the podcast & either look at one of the shows they've put on running the marathon at Disney or send them a question to answer.

Good luck & enjoy the Magic!

Believe it or not, the Shrimp Penne Pasta at the Sci Fi is excellent.

great ideas thank you

I have had pasta dishes that I enjoyed at Olivia's and Mama Melrose. Here are the descriptions:

Mama M: Wood-grilled Shrimp tossed with Pipette pasta with artichokes, peas, roasted red peppers in a basil and four cheese cream sauce $17.99; substitute shrimp for $19.99

Olivia's: Penne Pasta with Shrimp - with Asiago Cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, baby spinach, olive oil and garlic $18.99

I would head over to the Swan and eat at Il Mulino. The homemade pastas are fantastic. Wonderful service, great atmosphere. I think you and your hubby will love it!

DD - a pasta freak - loves the William Penn Pasta at Liberty Tree Tavern. We go at lunchtime, tho. Not sure they serve it at dinner. Check the menu.

What about Tony's in the MK or Mamma Melrose in HS. Been to both and both are good.

Tony's in the MK has a spaghetti and meatballs dish that is a very good size portion but is a bit pricy $18 or so.

We just got back today and besides Tutto, we had great pasta at WPE and WPC.

Another vote for Portobello Yacht Club in Downtown Disney-- although I believe it may be refurbished soon

We love Mama Melrose....some people don't. We go every trip and have a great meal! Good Luck!

Del:)

Have to agree with previous poster...we love Mama Melrose's as well. We have eaten there twice, and we had great meals both times. My husband once got something diavolo (sp?) It had shrimp, clams, etc. in it. It was spicy, but awesome. I liked mine, but since we always share whatever we order, I got to eat some of his. I will order this the next time...but it was a bit spicy....just a warning.
