My B-day is coming up in March and we're going to disney. My DM is planning to go to a disney hotel resteraunt. Iv'e been to many of the resteraunts including: Whispering Canyon, 1900 park fare, and a lot more. Can you help me find a great one for my b-day? I don't want it to be too fancy or too cutsey. Help!!:confused3 TIA

Narcoossee would be my pick. Or Blue Zoo!

Jiko at the AKL is a great place for a nice dinner.

I think it depends on if you want fancy food or just good food. I agree with the others on Jiko, Narcosseess, Cali Grill if you want fancy food. If you want good food that isn't too pricey, my vote would be for Lecelliar or Ohana. We love them both. If you want fancy without the price of the signature resturants...then Chefs de France is my vote. Hope this helps. You can got to allears.net and see the menu's and prices.

Kona! Nice casual, yummy dinner and hang out on the beach with a drink for a bit afterwards!

For good food, but not too fancy, you might try Turf Club at SSR, since you are looking for a hotel restaurant.

My top 3 in a Disney hotel are:

Shulas for Steaks/Lobster in the Dolphin Hotel
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Kimonos for Sushi in the Swan Hotel

Enjoy your trip. :cool1::banana::banana:

If I were to do a bday dinner at a Disney hotel, I would choose Boma at AKL and fill up on zebra domes. MMm...

i would definitely choose Ohana! its such a great atmosphere and the food is soooo good! especially that bread pudding!!!!! mmmmm :cloud9:

I also think Ohana is great. I think the TS restaurant at CBR (can't think of the name right now which is so sad since I stayed there for 8 days) would be great. It's a beach theme and so it's not too fancy and not cutesy. And the hotel pool and boardwalk and path along the "beach/lake" is such a nice place to walk and hang out before or after. Hope you find the perfect place!

Maya Grill at Coronado Springs...lovely decor, good food & great service. No characters but there is a really talented strolling guiter player.

Kona Cafe at the Polynesian...not fancy at all (cafe overlooks the lobby) but food is good, great desserts. No characters, no "entertainment" other than watching people walking by.

Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian -- looks somewhat fancy, but the food is pretty much steakhouse-normal, with good desserts. No characters or entertainment.

The Wave at The Contemporary is a cool looking restaurant...food sounds "new age" with things like "sustainable greens" on the menu, but it's still just fairly normal tasting steaks, chicken, fish. No characters or entertainment.

If you want a buffet (without characters) Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is no characters at dinner.

Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club...steak house food, not fancy. No characters, no entertainment.

If you're on the dining plan, all of these places are one Table Service credit per person. If you're paying cash, expect to spend about $25-50 per person, depending on what your like to eat, and whether you're getting appetizers & dessert.

My top three would be Kona at the Poly, The Wave at the Contemporary, or Captain's Grille at the YC. I've found that they all have fantastic food and great service.

It would be very relaxing to have dinner at Kona and then watch Wishes from the beach.

Don't set your sites on just one place. Pick about 3 or 4 because you may not be able to get an ADR for places like 'Ohana and California Grill this close to the date.

It's called Shutters. I would definitely think that you would still be able to get a reservation there. It was nice and quiet, good food, and it was by far the best service we had on our last trip.
