any good april fools tricks to play on young kids??

I love April Fools Day! Some of my favorite tricks to pull on my kids include painting their fingernails and toes while they are sleeping (yes, the boys and my husband too!). I have also drawn curly ended mustaches on their faces with an eyeliner while they are sleeping.

omg, the mustache idea is hysterical! I may just have to try that. not sure I could get away with it, though, without them waking up!

My older son used washable markers on his younger brother and did up his whole face. Goatee, mustache, glasses, and "I'm a nerd" written on his face. Poor kid had no idea.

When the kids were really little, I used to switch their beds-move one to the couch after they and fallen asleep. Move the girls into the boys bedroom or boys into the girls bedroom.

when you get them up in the morning act all frantic and act like they missed the bus.

My DD loves to put toothpaste (the white, paste kind) in between an oreo cookie and offer it to her friends. It's very funny!

oooh...I like the switched beds idea! I could probably swing it with the boys (they share a room) but will have to think of something else for my daughter. I would try to switch her, too, but I think she might be getting a cold and likely won't be sleeping very well so don't want to mess with it. I might be able to get away with switching one of her earrings out when she is sleeping so they are mismatched. hmmmmmm

I always thought it would be fun to serve April Fools ice cream sundaes for dessert. Hot fudge, whipped cream and sprinkles on top of some very vanilla looking mashed potatoes.

My kids got DH last year by swapping the bag inside his cereal box with a bag from their cereal box. He's half awake when he pours his cereal and didn't realize it was lucky charms and not his usual honey bunches of oats. Tonight after they're asleep he's going to change the time on their alarm clocks so they'll wake up an hour early.

I am going to get up and pretend like I am checking my email and them say "Oh my gosh! I cannot believe they passed year-round school effective immediately!! We'll have to cancel our Disney Cruise and park trip for this summer so you two will be here for school"!!
Just living up to my tag....;) :lmao:

I couldn't find a rubber snake for my DDs lunchboxes so I had to settle for plastic roaches. The shrieks and screams were priceless!:thumbsup2 The girls are already planning for next year....

we did a few things. we were going to switch them in their beds, but worried we'd be woken up at 5am when my 8 year old usually gets up to use the bathroom. instead we settled for switching their covers around. it was pretty funny to see my 8 year old son snuggled up tight in his sister's princess blanket. lol. I also switched around their booster seats in the car (they each have different ones and set places in the car, so they got a kick out of sitting somewhere new).

my DS8 got me good and cut out a post it note to fit the bottom of my mouse and I didn't realize it at first and could not figure out why my mouse wasn't working at first.

the twins decided to put a plastic fish in daddy's coffee maker (where the grounds go). I am sworn to secrecy. he always gets his coffee ready the night before, so he'll have a little surprise waiting for him.

they are having sooo much fun with this day. just good natured fun.

I put a few drops of food coloring in the bottom of my daughters milk glass this morning. She always has her head in the clouds so I knew she wouldn't notice. It took her a few sips to even realize her milk was red :rotfl2:
