Me and Val will be down Oct 30-Nov 5- anyone else planning to be there around those dates?

We got our tickets for the Oct 31st MNSSHP - now we got to get the lil' lady up and sowing. Me wants a Captain Jack outfit, argh!!! pirate:

We'll also be taking full advantage of the Food & Wine festival popcorn::

Oddly, I couldn't convince DP to go to WDW for our birthdays (late October) so instead we are going during Columbus Day week... going to MNSSHP on the 10th.

I think he thinks someone here is going to throw a big 30th birthday party for us (I'm not holding my breathe).

BTW, hope you have a blast! We are still trying to figure out costumes.

we did the party and weren't crazy about it. Like MVMCP better. But we usually are there at the end of october for food & wine. Unfortunately we're not going at all this year. Weren't going to do any vacations - but got a nice raise and we booked a cruise for September.

Have fun folks!

We will be at the 9/22 MNSSHP. I am really looking forward to HalloWishes! I am a fireworks junkie and Disney does fireworks better than anyone else. I love Wishes!, but the special HolidayWishes! that the did at MVMCP last year was just outstanding. I doubt that we will dress up, because we don't have kids and it will still be very hot and humid when we go. I think that we will most likely have a Disney character shirt and some sort of matching character hat. I could care less about the candy, since I am crossing the border into the land of Diabetes, but the parade and the storytelling on the riverboat all sound like so much fun!

Now, next year, we will be going again.....I hope....and we should be going to the party on Halloween night. I am hoping to do costumes for that one. Maggie

Help...I need to know! This will be my first MNSSHP. Please tell me about the storytelling on the riverboat.
Thank you

I love MNSSHP! Part of it is I'm a big chocolate junkie, but I also love Halloween. You should definitly check out the Haunted Hayride at Fort Wilderness. It's a blast!

Gen, those were my EXACT travel dates....in 2005. I wish I was going to be in WDW for H-ween, but I'm going earlier that month.

I'll be at the October 10 MNSSHP.

Dressed as Prince Phillip. The cool costume he wore in most of Sleeping Beauty, not that stupid puffy sleeve and oversized-hat combo he wears in the park.

Oy, what a getup.

Thank you

I heard that in years past you could board for a spooky fun cruise. The Country Bears were on there signing autographs and posing for pictures. The CMs were handing out treats. A blue grass band played a couple tunes and then a genuine southern belle...ghost...tells a haunted tale. (Not too scarey for little ones.) The boat is decorated with pumpkins and cornstalks and spider webs. You cruise on past the HM for great view of it at night. I understand that the HM looks super spooky! Maggie

for 9/15. Initially, I didn't think it sounded all that great (HOT, STICKY, and in a COSTUME?!? ) but both GRLZZ wanted to give it a try and even as I type this, DD is scheming on how to get a six-foot diameter showgirl headress into her checked bag. When she told me about it, all I could think of were some of the responses to Viki's post about her wardrobe dilemma at V&A's. :lmao: There will definitely be pictures. SmkyLover, it is certainly possible you might not want to be seen with us at this event -- PLEASE consider yourself fore-warned! :rotfl2:

I consider myself warned. however do you want to be seen with Packer Fans wearing cheese heads? :)

I have a dear friend at work who hails from WI. and she always brings back cheese or curds whenever she visits family. We'd be proud and happy to be seen with two examples of the perfect marriage of enzymes, fungus, and mid-western cow squeezin's. :thumbsup2

If you Let me know a favorite type of cheese you like perhaps I can bring some down with us for you to enjoy!

I really wasn't fishin' fer you to bring down any goodies (between Trick or Treat and Free Dining, nobody's gonna be wantin' for tasty things to eat! :rotfl: )
For that matter, maybe I oughta bring YOU some nice fresh green chiles from the garden. Can you get good green chiles in WI? or just the canned ones? I've got both New Mexico #8s (nice and mild; perfect for rellenos with your adopted state's featured farm export) and Big Jims (Very hot and yummy in green sauce).
Please let me know.
I'll be emailing you later this week with some contact info so we can meet up! THANKS again and I thinks it's gonna be fun! :goodvibes

I found matching t-shirts for us on eBay. Luckily, they come in pooh sizes. The shirts have a witch on the front and it says Black Hat Society, no doubt a clever take on the "Red Hat Society". On the back it says Witches Gone Wild - Beware the Witching Hour! I thought it was cute enough and not too scary. Now, we just need witch hats and we will be all set.

Now for the giggle part....
Gabby wants to get those large mammary glanded torsos that you can buy at the party shops and wear those underneath the shirts. Since we are advertising ourselves as witches gone wild, we would be able to flash folks. She said that we could use lime green Mickey heads as pasties. :lmao:

Now, that would indeed be more of a trick than a treat. I think we are going to have to save that idea for HHN at Universal some other year. ;) Maggie
