Any flexibility in checkout times?

I agree, I would gladly be out by 10am to be able to get in the room by 4pm. Most timeshares we have that use the 10am check out have check in at 3pm and rooms are ready.

The last two DVC visits we got our room after 5pm.

I am there with you on that one. I would gladly commit to early exit if it meant I could get settled in at a guaranteed time.

I would even be willing to pay an extra 10 points for a guaranteed check in time.

I have hope for the online check in, which I will try this next trip, as they ask you when you will be arriving. I so hope it will make a difference.

You can, just reserve the night before.

That won't work if they assign your room when you are at the front desk checking in. They aren't going to assign a room to a no show are they?
I thought about that one of the times I was sitting in the lobby making ugly faces.

That is why I have hope for the on line check in.... the room will be assigned before I get to the front desk, and hopefully will be ready earlier.

On a positive note, a BIG thank you to those who check out early since I've always gotten a room when I check in, the earliest being 7 am. As a result, we try to check out as early as possible to "pay it forward" to other guests. It's a nice start to any vacation knowing that your room is ready.

They will assign the room but you should let them know that you will arrive late night, early morning to be certain they don't look at you as a no show. Some have reported not having a room assigned with online check in but it should help.

I would be all for it if check-out time were moved to 9am or 10am if that meant check-in time would also be bumped up to 2pm or 3pm. 11am seems rather late to me. Heck, just get up and get out of the room.

I can't think of anyone who has a check out time of 9 or a check in time of 2. A few have check out's of noon and some have check in's of 3.

I agree that 10am check out would be well worth it to know that at check it, my room is ready. I think 9am could be tricky for those with children (we are dinks, but understand little ones change the dynamics alot).

We have only stayed in Studios or 1 bedrooms, and they have always been ready at check in (which for us is usually around 1 or 2pm). Our next trip in May is a 2 bedroom, so we will see how that goes.

I would not like to see the check out time moved up an hour to 10am rather than 11am. We usually book a late flight home on our last day so we like having the use of the room as long as possible on our last morning. We're always out by 11am but usually just a few minutes before that time!

Maybe it would help if we could check out via the TV or by calling a special phone number. Then housekeeping would know exactly which rooms are vacant so they could clean those first.

Exactly, there are many things that can be done to let them know which rooms they can work on and most have little cost and effort involved in them.

When we check out, I make sure a mousekeeper knows we are leaving so they can get into the room and clean it when they want.
