I just started using the Wii Fit this week and was wondering if anyone else is using it. I've already found my favorite games (skiing rocks!) and most hated ones (come on, they throw cleats and PANDAS at you in soccer?!). I also bought the Fitness Coach game, but so far I haven't tried that one because I've been loving the Fit one. I lost almost 30 lbs. through diet changes (cutting out desserts and snacks), so I'm hoping this will help me shed the last 20. I'm too lazy to go to the health club and I get bored with DVD routines, so now I have no more excuses.

I love the Wii Fit too, my favorite is the Advanced Step...my not so favorite are most of the balance ones, I'm not so coordinated. I use it to help out when I can't get my walks in.

WTG on your loss so far, keep going with what you're doing and you'll get those last ones off.:cool1:

It's great to see another Wii Fit user. It killed my last excuse for not getting more active ("But I don't have time to drive to the gym and the class times are not convenient!"). I'm a bumbler at the Step so far, but I have the skiing down pretty good. It's funny...we were on a Segway tour in Nassau last week, and when we stood still for photos, mine would always go to the left. the guide said that was because my center of balance was off. Sure enough, the exact same thing showed up on the Wii so now I am trying to work on that.

I have one too. I like the strength training an dmost of the aerobic ones. My girls chose at least one activity that I have to do before I can finish. Usually it's the candle one (you'll get it after you've been using it for a while), super easy...when they aren't pestering me :) The running one isn't too bad neither is the advanced step (on your own) as I usually get on my eliptical at that point or watch tv.

BTW, i too am not a fan of the soccer one. The ski jump rocks though!

The advance step just gets a little tougher and faster then you can also open up a free step, put it on a regular tv channel and step while you watch, it's cool too. I don't like the soccer one either. I have a lot of work to do on my balance though too.

Aha, I finally figured out the step...I was doing it wrong. Now I LOVE that one! It gave me a great workout this morning, and I unlocked the penguin balance game so I messed around with that one too. My center of balance is actually getting better since I started. Now I hope the pound loss follows.

I love my Wii Fit. I have had it since January. The step is my favorite, I sometimes use the Free Step at night when I am watching a TV show. I also like the yoga. It raises your heart rate and makes you feel good.

I also like the fact that it gives you a score for what you do. This always makes me want to do better than I did the last time.

I don't like the penguin or soccer game, and the snowboarding is my favorite balance game. My husband always laughs at me when I hula hoop, but it sure is a good workout.

Last time I put in a goal, I put in +5 instead of -5, so now when I lose some weight, it always tells me I am going to have to work harder to reach my goal. :rotfl: :rotfl2: Oops....

So glad to find this thread. We're thinking of getting a Wii fit, but wondering if you can really lose weight using this or is it more of a game?

Another Wiifit user here. Although I stopped using it about 7 months ago. I was concerned about the electricity going through my body (for the weighing/body fat part). So I don't attribute my 20 pound weight loss over the last year to the Wii fit per se.

But I like it as one more way to keep active in the house. I also think the regular Wii sports games (tennis, bowling, boxing) are good workouts.

If someone said they had x budget and could only afford a gym membership or a Wii and Wiifit, I'd say buy the gym membership. But as one more piece of your weight loss regime, the Wiifit doesn't hurt.

I love the Penguin game, hate the soccer, like the yoga. I read somewhere they are going to add some new stuff... what was it...? Anyone know?

AND - does anyone know if you can play the tennis and other sports games over the internet connection with other Wii friends?

Although I'm a fairly new user, I can feel that the workout kicks my butt so I have no doubt I will lose some weight. It depends which games you use, of course, but if you're doing the aeorbics you work up a heck of a sweat.

The rhythmic boxing is fun!! I've advanced to the 6 minute one and it's hard. I'm huffing and puffing afterwards, but I know I'm doing some good with it!

Wii Fit is fun, and there's enough variety, in my opinion, that I'm not getting bored. We got ours in November and I've faithfully been doing it about 5 days a week. It has really increased my stamina...I find I'm not as tired as I was during my workouts.

Congratulations on your weight loss! That's so great!! It's so hard to do, I really commend you on your accomplishment!!

I unlocked the boxing but didn't try it yet because I didn't realize I had the required controller. It said to use the numchuck, which DH had stashed away before I even saw it. I'm going to try that tonight.

The trick with the weight loss will be keeping it off now! I'm hoping that when I reach my goal, continued exercise will keep me there (and continued resistance to bringing my favorite snacks into the house). I know my weak points (main one: ice cream) so that is forbidden to come through the door.

I think you're going to love the boxing!

I totally understand just not letting in the temptations into the house.
:thumbsup2

I mess with it every now and then, I am really looking forward to the EA fitness game coming out that will incorporate resistance bands in the work outs

I love the boxing too...if you really give it your all, it's a great workout.

Oh yeah, that boxing is a butt kicker! Between that and the advanced step, I can work up a good sweat. I tried the free step and did it as fast as I could...racked up over 1000 steps in 10 mins. and exhausted myself in the process.

WTG...I will be back on it next week after we get back from WDW.
