Any discounts on Hyatt MCO?

Totally, we want a WDW resort if our flight will be earlier in the day and MCO Hyatt if not.
Let us know if they give you a better rate!

Whomp, whomp. WDW has not released any rooms to DCL for 2018 yet. I was advised to just go through WDW for those. So I'll hold off until after the current discount expires and see if there's anything extended beyond that and just go that route. Or stick with my Hampton Inn Gateway and Lyft it back and forth to Disney Springs.

Btw, DCL doesn't offer discount rates for WDW rooms. You'll pay rack rate if you book through them.

I have a question, if you stay at a WDW hotel that you booked through DCL, is the transportation to port included?

I just booked one night, for this coming June. Our rate is $149.00. But, my husband works for a travel agency and he is using his discount. I thought that was high! I guess not, after reading these posts. A few years ago, we got $99.00, that was a great deal.

I feel like the rates keep going up and up, we used to score awesome rates and now I feel lucky to have snagged $180 AAA rate... now they are $230 for the night we have booked

Check kayak.com or trivago.com to see rates from multiple booking sites. Join the Hyatt's Gold Passport club. I've gotten good "member" rates before. I have a Chase Freedom card and can sometimes get a better rate through their Ultimate Rewards site than I can anywhere else. I've also signed up for promo emails with Travelocity. Once I got a promo email from them for $50 off any hotel booked through the Travelocity app with no minimum night stay and was able to apply that to the Hyatt MCO.

I think the best rate I've gotten was $130 (that was with the $50 off from Travelocity) and the most I've paid was $220. As others have said, keep checking regularly because the rates do fluctuate.

Is there a benefit to booking mco hyatt through DCL vs. on your own? Outside of price differences, do you get the same service with your luggage to port, etc?

Pretty much the same. You need to fill out a form at check in at the Hyatt letting them know you have DCL transfers the next day. They will see that your bags get to the DCL luggage people.

Don't know that there's any significant price difference in booking the Hyatt either through DCL or not.

Just checked again and same night is $323, AAA rate is $297, yikes

I'm looking at $289 with AAA discount. It's been the same for weeks.
I think it has something to do with going in April

From what I can tell, it's very dependent on dates. I've seen the price vary by $100+ in two different weeks. I presume they, like other hotels, price based on expectation of demand. There may be discounts, like AAA, but they will probably be discounts on the prevailing rate, unless DCL has a set agreement with them. We just booked through our TA last year and it was the same price as online but we only paid $169/night. The following week was $250-75/night depending on room type.

Fortunately I'm a Hyatt Gold Passport member, and this year for the WBPC cruise we booked at there and used points to get a free night, planning on doing it again for the 2019 WBPC, it was the easiest and less stress free way to arrive to Port Canaveral.

My rate was the same for most of last year, but within 2-3 months, things started to change. Keep checking. You can always call and do a price adjustment to your reservation if it changes.

We have the Hyatt credit card, which we love. In addition to other perks, you get 1 free night per year (after you've had the card for 1 year) at any Category 1-4 Hyatt. The Hyatt at MCO is a Category 3, so we have used our free night there. We've also used it at hotels in other cities where the going rate was $400+ per night. We have found the annual free night alone is worth the $75 annual fee for the card. This is above and beyond the points we've earned on the card itself that we can use for free nights at any category Hyatt.

They are currently offering 40,000 bonus points if you spend $2000 in the first 3 months you have the card. A night at the MCO Hyatt "costs" 12,000 points.

I realize many people may not want another credit card, so this option definitely isn't for everyone. But for those willing and able to get an additional card and anyone who likes Hyatts, this is a great way to save money on hotels.

We've found the rates at this hotel fluctuate a lot. We've booked, then rebooked because they've dropped, been shocked at how much higher they've gone, etc. It's one of the few hotels we book far in advance and monitor rates on, so maybe that's common. We haven't seen anything better than $230 or so in quite some time - though we've also not stayed in some time either.

Sometimes I have found if you call, they can give you a deal that is not reflected on their website. This is not always the case depending (I guess) on the time of year, etc.
