Any discounts from anywhere for Christmas?

I know I'm crazy but I am seriously thinking about taking a trip 12/26/14 - 12/30/14. We really want to enjoy the holiday festivities and with 2 daughters in college this is the only time we can seem to make this work. Plus, me and 1 daughter have annual passes, having already taken 1 trip this year and another one booked for July. We will be going with very low expectations and will try to enjoy ourselves despite the crowds by focusing on scenery and entertainment rather than rides, especially since this would be our 3rd trip this year.

My question is has anyone ever gotten a discount? I know Disney will offer nothing but I'm thinking with the recent discounts from Orbitz that something like that may come up. Or maybe a AAA discount. I am looking into renting points but I realize that this may not be an option.

I would love some feedback.

Want to say that our older kids LOVE this time of year. Disney will block out and will not offer discounts for your dates.

You can and should look into places like Orbitz/Expedia as I have seen discounts that time of year. Just keep watching. I have also seen in the past Swan/Dolphin offer discounts during your dates.

Another option during your dates is to rent DVC points from someone here on the rent/trade board http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29 or through sites like Davids DVC. You can then get your tickets through a discounter and just pay OOP for dining. We have done this option and many have. Do your research, really start planning this now as DVC resorts book up fast, and remember the cancellation policy is different for such an endevor.

This time of year involves thinking outside the box to find some value but we have found it worth it on so many trips.

Thanks for the response! I have started looking into DVC rental but I really have my heart set on Wilderness Lodge and I know that it fills up quick that time of the year. I will probably end up paying rack rate but it's only for 4 nights so it won't be too horrible.
