Any difference between June and July?

Is there any real difference between doing to WDW in June and going in July? I have a week at the end of the school year (first week of June) when I can try to fit in a trip, or I can wait until after I finish teaching summer school four weeks later (first week of July).

This will be my first trip, and I feel like if I went in July, I would be able to have a more flexible schedule because I wouldn't have to be back and start summer school right away. But I'm curious about the difference in weather and crowds between the two months. I'm guessing that it will be really hot and crowded both times, which I'm willing to endure. (I'm a teacher; I don't have much choice, do I?) :)

Welcome to the DIS!

There's not too much difference in the weather, but there will be a HUGE difference in the crowd levels. The first week of June is getting crowded, but the first week of July is jam-packed. It's probably the second busiest week of the year behind Christmas week.

In the past two years, my trips have been in June and July. I really didn't notice much of a difference in weather. (Then again, from Maine everything in Florida is wicked hot). Like Bob P. said, the crowds were much lighter at the beginning of June.

Can you possibly go the second week of July? It's still crowded but much less so than the week of the Fourth. We went July 13 to 20 last year and by getting to the parks fairly early and using Fastpass we did great.

Agree with BobP:

June, on average, will be cooler (all things are relative ;) ) with slightly less humidity AND the crowds will not have built, especially since some schools aren't out yet. Go then if you can instead of July.

I'd be interested to hear what teachers have to say about this. I'm in a similiar situation. We either go right after school gets out, or we wait until July. We're leaning towards July because I hate to go right away and then have nothing to do the entire summer. We went the first week of June in 2004, and by the time we left, I thought crowds were getting pretty heavy. I keep going back and forth, but I've got a whole year to decide, right?
