Any CM consultants out there?

Got a quick question...

I used to be a consultant and have been deactivated for over 5 years now. It was getting way to hard to maintain the minimum for just my own personal use and I started to be overloaded with supplies. I still have some of the Premiere coversets sealed up that I will just never use (before the true 12x12 came out) and a lot of the perfect fit paper too.

Anywho I am loving the digital and find myself actually getting more pages done now with it than with the traditional (don't have to hog the entire kitchen table anymore).

I know the requirements are the same with the 500 quarterly minimum, but without a customer base (which I ran into this problem before - economy sucks and none of my friends or family will buy or aren't into scrapping) and my area being pretty saturated with consultants it really would be just me doing it again for my own personal discount and such.

Are any of you out there doing this and are you having a hard time maintaining? How long do you have to make that order if you don't get it in the 3 month time frame before you deactive? And how many times can you do that before they say no more?

Just wondering how any of you that do mostly digital handle the requirement and if you are able to maintain on your own without being overloaded in hopes you'll use it someday (like with tradtional) or that you'll sell it.

And are there any business enhancers for the digital gals or is that still mostly in the lines of traditional?

Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks!

I am right there with you. I deactivated just 4 months ago, as it was difficult for me to maintain the requirements while working full time, and I do have quite a bit of product left.
I do love CM and will continue to support their products.
There are some CM consultants here on this board who have thriving businesses while working. Hopefully, they will have a few moments to respond. Good luck to you.

I'm active but I have a few friends that help me make the required amount each quarter. Right now they are having a great digital sale.

I follow the CM Facebook page- that seems to help because they announce sales on there for the digital stuff. I have lots of the digital kits that I have gotten on sale.

S :)

I've been a fan of CM products and often wondered can you and a friend be a consultant together and share in the benefits?

I have been a consultant for something like 6 years, and I am teetering on the brink of deactivation...

There are other options - Showcase is just finishing up and they announced a new customer appreciation plan - you pay $39 per year (intro offer for Sept. of $20) and you get a $10 product credit plus 15% off for anything you order for the year. I am very interested in this, as there are also free, exclusive gifts that you can get throughout the year. This is all done on the consultant's website, and rolls out in September.

I hope you guys are taking advantage of the digital freebies on the CM project website...this Friday there were some really fun amusement park ones. CM also has had one digital product business enhancer per quarter, it seems.

You and a friend cannot be one and the same consultant, but certainly you can have a casual relationship with a friend to order from you and hold workshops with you and share your benefits.

I hope this answers a few of your questions. By the way, the new albums with the custom digitally printed covers are truly amazing...this will all be rolled out to the public within the next few weeks, so keep your eyes on the CM website!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I do have some other questions if you wouldn't mind helping me with.

When CM holds a digital sale (like they are this month) I know typically the commission for the consultant is 30% - however, with the sale being 20% off, does that come out of the commission for the consultant essentially leaving you with 10% or does CM cover that cost and you receive 30% of the sale price still?

Math example :

$100 retail is $30 commission, however during a sale this $100 retail is now $80, does the consultant receive then only $10 commission or do they receive $24 commission? (80 x 30%)

Thanks for the help!

We receive commission on the $ amount purchased, so if they purchase $100 worth of stuff for $80, we receive commission on the $80.

I am currently a consultant and have no plans to deactivate in the future. I usually have no problem making my minimum every three months between the traditional and all of the digital that I do. I may be biased, but after looking at everyone else's digital books and seeing the quality of the different ones, I would only use CMs StoryBooks.

There is at least one digital business enhancer every quarter and there will now be some content that only the members of the rewards program can purchase.

In addition, CM is having a 20% off sale on their StoryBooks this month. That includes extra pages.

I too am a consultant and never have to even think about meeting my minimum. CM is coming out with such new and innovative tools and other products (Custom Coverset) that I always have new offers to bring to my customer base. NOt to mention the sales! They have been very good at driving sales! We have new leadership at CM who are very experienced at what they do and the business has changed. Plus our consultant count is down, so right now is like getting in on the ground floor of a new business opportunity! Very exciting!!
