Planning to arrive at SSR at the end of August late morning or lunchtime and I wondered if anyone has been able to check in that early? Want to get over to Disney Studios as soon as possible that day and see Fantasmic at night (time is short this trip) Just wondered how early you have been able to get into your room. I know we can leave our luggage with bell services and check into our room later in the evening (which I suppose is an option, if necessary) but it would be nice to be able to get our studio early.

You never know.............We got into our room at the BWV at 10:00am. It all depends on whats ready to go when you get there. I would say at SSR your chances are pretty good.

We always check in early. Most of the time our room is ready. If it is not, baggage just holds our things.

Last visit home, we arrived at 7:15am and was thrilled at the news that we could check in right then. Don't know if this is usual but pixiedust: WOW! did it make the first day at the parks go great!

Hope you enjoy :smickey: Fantasmic and have a safe trip!~

You can check in at any time. The question is if your room will be ready before 4 PM, and often it is not. That really doesn't matter though, because they will hold your luggage for you, and they give you a card with a number to call to find out your room number and to find out when it is ready. They give you the keys when you first check in, so no need to go back to the desk after you find out the room number.

I've never had a problem checking in early at any resort. But I've heard of other who have. I guess it's just a roll of the dice

The first time we stayed at SSR our room was ready when we arrived, around noonish. It was a 1 bedroom in Congress Park with a perfect view of downtown disney.

This past Jan06, we checked in got our keys about 3pm, the tel number to call to find out our room number and when it was ready. We started calling at 4pm and it wasnt ready, told to call back in 30 mins, this lasted until 8pm. This time it was 2 bedroom in Congress park overlooking the bus stop.

Two totally different experiences.

Good Luck

If your not too picky about which veiw or section you want, your chances are better.

Our last trip in March we stayed at SSR (home) and arrived to check in at 9:00am. We had been on the road ALL night and it was AWSOME news to have a room ready for check in. It was soooooo nice to check right in and get a shower to start the day!

cool1: DW and I did check in one time early at BCV around 10:00am, but that was the only time. For the last 3 visits we never got our room keys until after 5:15 pm, one time after six. But that really isn't a problem for us, its just a bonus. Bags are checked, off to the parks we go, having anticipated a late check in, we arrive in park attire and enjoy our stay. :cool1:

It's pretty much a matter of chance. We've had the room ready at 10 am and had it not ready at 4 pm. I think it just depends on how busy mousekeeping was that day and when people actually left.

We checked in at BWV last May and got our rm at about 1015 am.

Our last trip (end of March) we had a redeye flight and got to SSR via ME at 6:30 AM. We were not picky about location (just needed nonsmoking for medical reasons) and got a room right away in the Paddocks, right next to the quiet pool/hot tub/bus stop. It was wonderful! So nice to rest up for a while before heading out. We were unpacked, had our grocery delivery, breakfast, showers and were ready to go by 10:30!

We got into our 1br at BCV's last trip at 10:00 am.

We stayed at SSR in Jan. We got there at 9:30 a.m. We were told that we were assigned a room when we checked into Magical Express at the airport. We had the option of taking that room or waiting for one that met more of our requests. We had asked for non-smoking, high floor in Congress Park area. We were assigned a non-smoking, high floor in the Springs area. We took the room and ended up loving the location. :thumbsup2 I think you never know. We may have been lucky because it was January.
