Any Chance AP rate room for Feb will open up?

Here's the situation - we had AS Music booked under the GD room only rate for early Feb. Just found out that the AP rates are out and called to change the discount. They could give us the dates but only at POP not at any of the All Stars (except for preferred rooms). This is a bonus trip because we have the APs so we're doing it on the cheap.

So question is - I did switch to POP but should I keep calling back periodically to see if AS Music opens up with the AP rate or is it a lost cause? Nothing against POP we just happen to love AS Music (stayed at POP once before and thought that it felt too big). It's our first year with APs so this end of it is all new to me.

Thanks!

I would definitely keep calling back! We wanted to switch to CSR for our trip in October. AP rates were booked, but I kept calling and finally got one a couple of weeks before the trip!

I wanted a deluxe room at BWI back in July and I kept checking the website every day and one finally opened up about 4 weeks before the trip, so it does happen.

Is your AP registered on Disney's website? It's so much easier to just check the website every morning to see if any rooms opened up, rather than having to call. If you see a room open up on the site, then you can call and change the ressie, that's what I did. :thumbsup2

We had a very similar situation a few years back except that our trip was during February school vacation week. Rooms did open up under the AP discount at the value we would have rather stayed at. Keep checking!

Thank you all! I will keep checking and keep my fingers crossed. I haven't registered my AP online yet but obviously I should - you're right checking via the web is a lot easier than calling.

Thanks again and Happy Holidays to all!

I actually dread anytime I have to call Disney, especially with the questions - is this your first trip to Disney? How many times have you visited in the last five years? Has your third cousin on your mother's side ever been to Disney? :rotfl2:

HOw do you register your AP with Disney..?? We are looking into buying only 1 for our trip in August to get the Discount.. my luck we we wont be able to apply it towards Port Orleans which is the only moderate resort we can stay in because there are 5 of us..

You can enter your AP # in your profile information on the Disney World website. It will give you an option to choose which pass you have, then enter the #. Just click on "Update Profile" once you are signed in to the site.

quick update - I did register my AP online and using emmabelle's suggestion I checked online frequently. First AS Sports opened up and we switched to that then this weekend AS Music opened up! So now we're at the resort we wanted :cool1:

Thanks for the suggestions and words of encouragement everyone...and yes it's well worth it to keep trying!!

Glad all your patience paid off. I've been doing the same thing for a few days too and just check again a few hours ago and availability was there! Booked it and saved myself $80 a night on a one-bedroom at BCV (had VWL booked with DVC on cash). We leave in three weeks. It really pays off to check often and register your AP. Congrats!
