we used to have AP's, but because we were blocked out during the summer, i don't have much experience with summer visits to DLR.

in fact, i think the only time we've been there in summer, was when we went in august '07, but i can't remember which dates we were there, lol!

my choices this year are the first or second week of August....does anybody think there are benefits to choosing one over the other? i guess crowds and heat will be pretty similar regardless of which one i choose, yes?

not sure, but we are going in august to . the third week .

We have done Augudt numerous times and I do not think it makes a difference. We will be there from the 15-22nd this year. Hot and busy.

The later the better. But, don't get near Labor Day weekend.

A lot of schools start in late August, or have their orientations, etc., in late August, so I'd try to go the last full week (early in the week). Avoid weekends, too.

The nice thing is that the hours are long and everything's usually open and running. It'll be crowded, but use your early mornings and FastPass and you'll be fine!

I visited last August, during the last week and it was not what I would consider crowded, hot, though. The last day that I was at Dl. it was a Thursday, and over the course of the day the crowd level did increase, and by the evening, it was becoming crowded in NOS and especially in Adventure land. Fast Passes for Indy, is a good thing! :)

Have an awesome time, no matter when you may travel to Disneyland. :)

thanks very much for the responses. i didn't realize until a few hours ago that we would actually be visiting during the 5 for 3 promo, so that means we'll have 2 extra days in the parks that i wasn't expecting. that being the case, crowds aren't a real issue because we'll have plenty of time to do all that we wanted to do while there.

HOORAY for unexpected promos!!! :cool1:

Maybe if you went just during the weekday, the weekends will be pretty crowded.
