My waitlist came through at BWV. Because we booked at the last min. we took a pref. view instead of standard. We always request the 1st floor (that way we are not tied to riding the elevator). We did not make any other location requests. Are there any bad views I need to try to avoid...dumpsters, etc?:confused3

Bad or good are relative. Many, some would say most, of the "preferred view" units are nothing special in terms of view. So as long as you're not worried about the view it should not be a problem. Otherwise it depends on what you like. The quite pool, the clown pool, shrubbery, the canal, etc. Personally I'd go more for resort location than view. Maybe at the far end if I wanted to do a lot of MGM or ? in the middle of the back hallway if I planned to drive much and so on.

I believe there are some with a view of the back of the main pool slide.

We will be staying in a preferred view 1 BDR from June 30-July 4. We plan to do a lot of walking to MGM and Epcot. Any suggestions on where to request?

There are some not so good preferred views -- main pool area, lower floors, some rooms that basically look out at the back of Leaping Lizards bar which is shaped like a carousel and is tall, and a few that look at the back of the clown slide. You can easily walk to MGM and Epcot from any rooms. However, rooms at the end of the quiet pool area, if you use stairs, give you the shortest walk to MGM, although the longest to Epcot (which is a fairly short walk to begin with)

I'm hopping we get our first floor request so that we can exit with the stroller at any door. After that I requested pool view. Hope it isn't the back of the bar, but even that would be fine. We arrive after 11:00pm so I have a feeling it will be whatever is left over anyway.;)

We had the view of the back of Leaping Libations on our Dec trip. We had booked a standard view studio and were surprised when the CM at check-in was pointing to the pool area on the map. I asked the CM how we ended up in that area when we had booked a standard view and she said it was classified as a standard view room because the view was restricted by Leaping Libations. It only restricted about half of the view -- we could still see the pool and lots of greenery so we were fine with it. So while there may be some rooms in that area that are classified as preferred view, the rooms with the most restricted views appear to be standard view.

It also turned out to be very convenient. We were steps from the door to the pool area and steps from the fitness center. It was a HA room which meant we had a small armoire instead of a closet and no safe in the room and the roll-in shower. Being so close to the exit door and the laundry room there was some hallway noise but it wasn't bad.

I was thinking the same thing. Location is better then the view for us. Although both would be nice, too:thumbsup2

For the most part, you will be able to find a door nearby on the first floor that will exit to the pool areas and thus allow you to walk to MGM or Epcot or the boardwalk. However, note that the lobby, front entrance, and walkway from the front entrance to the bus stops are on the second floor (ground level at the front of the building with the main doorway into the lobby is one story above ground level at the back of the building where the boardwalk and main pool are).

Try to get a room at the far end of the villas. Epcot is no big deal of a walk from anywhere, but if your near the lobby, it can add another 1/2 mile to your walk to MGM.

Yes, 2nd would be my 2nd choice. We've stayed in both and seem to like 1st more. Do you think there are many requests for this? Since we are coming in so late...I hope everyone wants those pretty views on the high floors.;)
