Please forgive (indulge) me, but the Nordonia High School Drama Club just completed the 2006 presentation of The Music Man and, if I do say so myself, they all did a wonderful job. Sarah auditioned for a lead role in this year's play and won the role of Eulalie Mackechnie Shinn, the wife of the mayor of River City, Iowa (or is that Ioway???)

Just like last year, the kids all put a lot of energy into the production and the endless rehersals and the results were outstanding. I was there for all four performances to support my kids (Sarah on stage and James as the sole percussionist in the pit band) and I enjoyed each and every moment. I am so amazed at what high school (and this year elementary school) kids can do when they put their minds to a task. Sarah was in charge of costumes this year and my DW Sue spent countless hours sewing, hot gluing, and otherwise creating all of the costumes for the play. Thankfully, she had loads of help from many other parents.

Here are a few photos of Sarah and in some (but not all) of her costumes.

And just in case there was any doubt where my daughter gets her stunning good looks:

I could not be more proud of the students of the Nordonia Drama Club

I'm so glad you enjoyed the play and you should be proud!
I miss being involved in DS's play productions, band performances etc. now that he's in college. Enjoy every minute of it while you can :grouphug:

Congratulations and thanks for sharing the pictures! Those are memories to cherish.

My son was involved in quite a few plays while he was in high school...now, he is the music director for the same high school he graduated from...and they just did their spring musical, which was "Oklahoma"! They also did a fantastic job!

It's so wonderful to hear great things about our youth! :)

Well, you know we here are IOWA STUBBORN, but Sarah does look great!! I'll bet she sounded wonderful too.

I LOVE "One Grecian Urn . . . .TWO Grecian urns . . ."

Congrats, Dad, and thanks for sharing!

I was in Music Man in my high school play (quite a few years ago now!) and it still remains one of my fondest memories. I was a Pick-A-Little Lady and we got to sing with the barbershop quartet. Great show! If you have more pictures - post them!!

Congratulations to everyone! John, I think you found your Easter bonnet! :teeth:

TC :cool1:

Aww, awesome. Those are such awesome costumes. She looks great. Oh and so do you of course! That hat really suits you.

That's great, John. Thanks for sharing. Sounds, and looks, like the kids did great again, as did Sue and you. I am always amazed at how well kids in those HS plays do, always thoroughly enjoyable.

How wonderful! She looked fantastic. And "Music Man" is one of my all time favorite shows--I wish I could have seen it.

I did spend my Saturday night with my sister, BIL & 2 nieces watching their Catholic school 6, 7 & 8th Graders' production of "Oklahoma". And boy, were those kids awesome!

And my 7 yr old niece is becoming quite the actress herself! She had a part in the chorus of a musical production of "Tom Sawyer" last fall, and she is in rehersals for "Suessical". She's a Who, and she's thrilled because she's the Grinch's daughter. Because, as she told her mom, 'who's the most famous person in Who-ville? The Grinch, and I'm his daughter!".
