Another Westjet question, this time about our seats on the plane

On our Westjet confirmation it does not say where we will be sitting. So would we be assigned our seats when we check in & it would my Mom, Dad & me so they could get us 3 seats together.

I believe they assign seats when you arrive at the airport. So if you want to sit together get there early.

Thanks for the info & either way my family & I were planning on getting to the Airport early.

You can actaully log onto their website 12 (or 24, can't remember) hours before your flight leaves, check-in over the internet and then make seat selections as well. You can print your boarding passes off at home and use them at the baggage terminal as well. No need to do the whole, get to the airport luck of the draw thing anymore. I love technology.

I just went to Ottawa a couple weeks go and did this with ease - got the window seat I wanted both times.

Hope this helps!

It's something will consider & worry about it later because it's only June & we won't be flying until December. Also right now our printer is a bit messed up because sometimes when printing more then 1 page goes threw the slot at the same time. Hopefully we will have the problem fixed then because if we do check in online, we would not want anything to happen when printing our boarding passes.

As of right now you can only do the preboarding print outs for domestic flights only, so not for Orlando.

When we flew in March there were six of us and we were put three and three across the aisle from each other. They do their best to seat parties together, unless you arrive late obviously. Someone once told me that they may actually group people together according to their bookings ahead of time, but who knows. I was just glad we all were together :)

My family & I booked our seats on Wesjet back on April 24/06 so if they do assign your seats based on when you made your reservations, would our chances be good of getting 3 seats together?

I don't know if they assign your seats when you book, but rather what a friend had said to me is that they go over their bookings the day prior to the flight and try to arrange groups together. I do not know if this is actually true or not. This is just what I was told. So who knows .... I wish they did assign seats ahead of time. I worry about it too much

Unfortunately the airlines do not go over bookings the day before to put groups together. My friend has worked for an airline for 20 years. The best advice is to either pay to pre-assign your seats or if this is not available arrive at the airport about 3 hours before your flight time. The new guidelines for international flights require that you arrive 3 hours prior so, if you are there that early it should not be a problem.
