another wedding invitation question

We know of an upcoming wedding that we are being invited too. I'm just curious of how soon do you usually recieve the invitation. The wedding is mi-may. Should we have gotten one yet (if we are still invited that is).

4-6 weeks is standard.

Probably not. My own wedding was on May 10, and I sent out my invitations around St. Patrick's Day.

6-8 weeks for an average wedding, up to 12 weeks for really formal, as few as 4 for a more informal gathering.

If the wedding is May 21st in Tennesee and we are in NH, shouldn't they be sent out early so arrangements can be made?

Well...Not really. Either save-the-dates or just a phone call or email letting you know when and where to book would be better. Invitations really aren't supposed to go out until 6-8 weeks. It seems as though you already know the date and location, so I would consider their job done until sending out the actual invitation...That's how we're doing it with a large number of people from out of town, and his brother just did it the same way (wedding was 2 weeks ago) with the same out of town relatives...and it all worked out just fine...
