For travel videos, this is what I've been doing:
I look over our digital travel photo file and I group the photos together in iMovie per subject. I have the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, for example. I arrange the photos into a story, showing the outside first, then I sprinkle them with interior photos, picking out some that has me in it!
I then write copy and narrate to the photos and I include some facts on each place from their website such as date built and how many rooms. Then, I take the audio and tweak it to fit the pictures so that when I'm talking about the fountains, you see the fountains. Then, once it is all done, I add transitions and effects, like fade-ins and outs, and zooms and overlapping pictures and fun things, trying to create a story and zoom in on pictures that need a zoom.
Then, I record an intro and add that to the front as in "Hi, this is Ursula reporting on the Hyatt Regencey NEWPORT BEACH!" Then, I save it then I import it for the web which makes a QT then I change it to .avi and voila that gets updated to Expotv.
But, none of my travel videos have been approved yet so don't listen to me.
