Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

*scratches my head*...ok so about this whole paypal/500 a month thing...i went to the website, and i was going to just enter the back account and social info...but then i decided to look into the premier account. well, i kinda ended up upgrading my account to a premier account??? lol...i kept thinking there would be a are you sure part, but there never was...anyways...so, is there a FEE for me to withdraw my money now? it says Receive payments funded by PayPal Balance, PayPal Instant Transfer or PayPal eCheck- 1.9% to 2.9% + $0.30 USD ....but for withdraw funds there is no fee...*collapses* anybody know?? i know a couple of you mentioned you are premier...ive downgraded from premier before because they took a percentage of my payments on ebay auctions, and i know i cant downgrade again, but i just dont know if they will take a percentage of my expo money or not...any info is appreciated...thanks :)

I recently signed up, but have not uploaded yet. I've been reading the posts the last couple of days and am hoping someone can answer a couple of questions.

Why does everyone wait until the end of the month to upload their videos? Wouldn't it be easier to do it throughout the month so the site traffic wouldn't be so heavy. Is their some benefit to waiting?

If you do a referral, when do you get the $5...when they sign up?

If they don't accept a video, does it count towards your 100 for the month or do only the accepted videos count?

I'm looking forward to having a busy August making videos of everything I can find!!! Thanks.

for myself, i only found out about the site about a week ago, so i had to wait to the last minute to get the july videos in! my plan for august is definitely to get them in early!!

for referrals, i believe you get the 5 once your person uploads a video and it is accepted.

only accepted videos count towards your 100...good luck, and welcome :)

How do they pay? Do they send a check in the mail or do you have to set up Paypal or submit bank account information?

Yes, you will be charged a fee based on any amount sent to that pay pal account. I have a premier account for when I sell stuff on ebay. However, I am going to also set up a personal account for stuff like this. Per Pay Pal, a person can have one premier and one personal, you just have to have separate email accounts and bank accounts for each one. So if you have another bank account that you could link to a new personal pay pal account, I would do it.

I do have a question myself about those of you that also have your spouse signed up. Do you use separate pay pal accounts for each of you or do you use the same one?

I was searching paypal and it seemed a personal account could only receive $500 a month in funds... for the whole month. Or else the payment sending you over goes into a suspended state until you upgrade or deny it. So I upgraded to the premiere and I guess I'll just be charged.

What stinks is I just got 2 videos denied (they said they spoiled plot... I was sooo careful not to do that but you have to talk about plot SOME in books and movies) so now I wouldn't even have reached the $500. Argh!

hmmm...now im really confused about this whole paypal thing...somebody mentioned earlier that if you verified your bank account with them, that they would lift the 500 limit without you having to upgrade to premier. the fee is around 15 bucks for the 500...hmm....just when i thought had everything figured out :P

From what I understand, there are 2 limits. One on how much you can receive into your account, and one on how much you can withdraw out of your account. On a personal account, the receive limit is $500 and on premiere it's uncapped. So basically if you're making too much money, they want you to pay them the fee. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.

The withdrawal limit is also $500 on personals and $500 on premiere unless you do the verify bank account and soc security... I think.

ahhh...so i think i am starting to get it here...maybe. so even with premier, that doesnt allow me to withdraw the money, only to receive it? *collapses* methinks i should actually read the paypal site better...thanks for clarifying the difference between receiving and withdrawing tho, i wasnt thinking of that...

I'm so angry    - I'm sitting here at 11:50 pm EST- how many people are trying to upload at this time of the night??

I couldn't get my videos in to the site on the 31st- so I got up bright and early this morning to work while the kids were in bed- the darn site is still stalling- if they can't get the site fixed- why bother- this has caused me more aggrivation this week then it's looking like it's worth-

are they doing this on purpose so you get upset and quit trying to earn money??????????????????????????

I mean- yeah so, you can make 100 videos but you can't get them on the blankety/blank site

I've only been able to upload 2- yes 2 videos today and I've tried on and off all darn day :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass My hourly production pay is drastically dropping at this rate.

Am I the only one - I feel like I'm blocked from the site.

I made 14 videos tonight and edited them. I thought I'd upload them (since nobody else will be doing that ;) ). I'm having the same trouble. I've uploaded two in 2.5 hours. I looked on the forum portion of the expotv.com site and others are complaining about it, too. I guess by the end of the month I'll have 60 uploaded at this rate.:thumbsup2

It's OFFICIAL! I'm going to quit this ExpoTv thing. I was only able to upload ONE video within the last 24 hours. I have never been more aggravated. I finally get on the website and as soon as I select "Login" *BOOM*, I'm hit with "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage" :headache: :headache: :headache: . You would think that tech would have gotten it already and found a way to accommodate all of the videos being uploaded. Well I guess NOT! That's it, I'm going to SLEEP.....lol, thanks for letting me vent.

I find that if I video at night and upload in the morning :surfweb: , the site uploads them very quickly. Given im up at 7 since i have to get to work at 830 i dont know if u want to b up that early just to upload videos but its convenint for me ;)

No, you can receive and withdraw money with both standard and premier accounts. The difference is that with a premier account you can receive credit card payments, BUT you are charged a percentage for EVERY bit of money you receive. You don't want to be receiving ExpoTV payments into a premier account, probably. PayPal is going to end up with a good chunk of your hard earned money that way. You'll still be able to withdraw it, you just won't have as much to withdraw. ;)

Just wanted to post a little challenge to everyone here on the Dis boards- because I know you all are up to it! :goodvibes

I have a lot of videos that have 0 plays still. I am sure there are others out there like me. My challenge to all of you is to watch as many of those videos as possible today- let's not let ANY of our Dis friends have a 0 play video!

I am at work now, but I am going to start pulling up videos from my Dis friends list, and let them play with no sound while I am working. Let those pennies rooooooolllllll! :rotfl:

This is right! I just spoke to a Paypal agent on the phone who verified exactly what you said here.

Why does everyone wait until the end of the month to upload their videos? Wouldn't it be easier to do it throughout the month so the site traffic wouldn't be so heavy. Is their some benefit to waiting?

(I posted this question along with several others previously, but this one got lost in the shuffle. Hoping someone can provide an answer) TIA

For me I only started doing Expo TV on 7/23 so I only had the last week to do what I could. I was aiming for 100 videos but only got 85 uploaded (I did get 100 of them shot) due to the site being so slow. I think there are a bunch of Disers who started late in the month because that was when we learned about the site.

Otherwise I think it is just human nature to procrastinate. I am hoping to get mine done early this month and avoid the last week rush again.

Allyson :)

My main reason was that I waited until one got approved. I wasn't sure if it was an okay format or how to tell if it was too long (over the MB limit) so I didn't want to keep doing them to get denied. Then I was out of town for a week, so I got back the 29th and started doing more.

I for sure will be doing them early on this month. Although I didn't have horrible trouble if I did it first thing in the morning or super late at night.
