Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

Hmmm. My only question at the moment is- how long does it take for them to send me an email confirming my new account has been set up? :rotfl:

Oh- here's a question- vids are supposed to be 60 seconds, right? How do ya'll time it while actually MAKING the video? I know I can set my camera on delay to start taping long enough for me to sit down- but I'm pretty sure I can't set it to go off after 60 seconds of taping. So do you keep an eye on a clock or what?

...and travel destinations..what about different resorts at WDW..or is it just WDW in general. I posted this question on their forums but so far no answer yet.

I reviewed all the different parks (MK, AK, MGM, and Epcot, and Coronado Springs) So far only Epcot was accepted.... I have 90 videos up now, only 10 still pending and MK, AK, MGM and Coronado are among those. I dont see any reason they wouldn't accept them though, if they had a problem with it I think they would have rejected all of them and not have took Epcot as its own destination.

As far as them "now acceping" the different scents and whatnot, I was doing that already! :rolleyes1 haha.. I wasnt really aware it wasnt allowed :confused3 I did all the different bath and body works sprays I had.. all exactly the same- just different scents. I also seperatly reviewed things if it was like a perfume and lotion. 1 review for the perfume, 1 review for the lotion... and they accepted them seperate.

I have a question of my own now... what exactly classifies as a destination??? Can I review my apartment complex or college? Those are types places I would think people would want to know about. And is a store a destination?? I'm confused as to what will be accepted or not in that category. HELP! haha..

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe I'm just coming across this thread. I tried to get on last night just to find out more about it and this morning I thought I would try to get on and at least view a couple videos to see what it's all about and I can't get any of the videos to come up so that I can watch them. Any suggestions?

Thx.

I really wish they could be more specific about the categories...Like Baby and kids....are they talking big ticket items or anything that has to do with babies and kids...such a wide range there...and travel destinations..what about different resorts at WDW..or is it just WDW in general. Well, you probably already read this, but here is what the terms say about travel:

"Videos submitted to ExpoTV's "Travel" category may feature luggage, carry-ons and travel accessories, and may also review a tourist destination or attraction, accommodations, or transportation service. Videos featuring chain restaurants are not acceptable. Travel reviews featuring destinations or locations must include the Submitter's own original on-location footage."

I hope you get a reply on the forum. I would think you can chop up a Disney vacation into several reviews. :)

Hmm, interesting twist on being able to do different flavors/scents on products. I wonder if that applies to all categories? For example, my ds has a ton of Thomas the Tank Engine trains- all different characters. Does that mean I can review each one separately? If so that would get me at least 50 videos right there.

How about Disney beach towels? I have 3 different characters- is that 3 reviews, or are they the "same?"

Creative Memories punches- I have about 8 different shapes- are they "different" now, or still considered the same do you think?

Just wondering out loud- any opinions are great.

I'm interested in this too. I did 2 reviews and uploaded them this morning. I'll wait to see if they're both accepted. One was for Crayola washable markers and one was for the NON washable ones. They are different products, so hopefully it will count. I'm not doing reviews on such similar products until I know what'll happen with the marker reviews though.

Great job on the Epcot review. :thumbsup2 I can't wait to see the others. :)

I don't know the answer your question, but I know prospective students and their parents would be thrilled to see reviews of colleges. I wish there were reviews of the types of rooms in different dorms. It would help accepted students pick their dorms and would help them figure out what types of storage units would suit their dorm room. :)

I have a rather primitive system. :rotfl2: I'm not into technology much. And I wouldn't know how to use a computer program to keep track of them even if it came w/directions. I'm amazed that I actually got expotv to work for me. Anyway, I write them down in a good, old fashioned, spiral notebook as I film them, give them a checkmark after they upload successfully, and then take a highlighter across them as they get approved. The only issue I have w/my system is that I don't alphabetize and expotv doesn't approve them in the order they are submitted, so I have to scan my entire list to find the ones that were approved. That gets easier the more highlighter marks I get to make though.

I do well with primitive! :goodvibes
I think yours is a nice system. I am desperate for anything that allows me to see how many more reviews I need to meet the monthy quota without going over. I would rather be under than over. Thanks for sharing your system.

Ok so we are supposed to include personal video from our trips there? Well thats near impossible for me to do since all of mine are on vhs tapes. Can we like show personal pictures of the resorts maybe?

We set up a portable clock with a second hand someplace near the camera. Look at your clock right before you start your review and glance at it periodically. The problem is trying to remember what the number was when you started. It's better to be a little over, than under. Under will get your review rejected.

I love the Epcot review, and I am glad to see that they accepted the review without any "video" of the actual trip- I am guessing since you had the photos, that is why it got accepted. That is great to know, because I have lots of photos from our last trip, and we are staying at a different resort this December, so I will be able to do more then.

Do you think we could do a review for each restaurant we eat in at the world? :confused3

Oh and the person who mentioned about paypal holding anything over 500 is right, however, if you complete at least 2 steps you can get that limit lifted. I think one step is to confirm your bank account and the other is to enter your social security number and then another option is to enter a credit card. Im not so fond of putting my social in there. Has anyone done this?:confused3

I did. I felt okay about it because I knew the site I was entering. I would NEVER enter my SS from an email link because so many are fraud. However, if you go directly to www.paypal.com, you know you are visting the real site.

i can not get the video to load, i click on the upload button and it just sits there....this has been since last week...has anyone else had this problem?

Epcot was the only video I had that I showed photos and Im wondering if thats why its the only one accepted so far. I originally did all of them with pictures, but they lasted wayyy too long and were over the limit by alot so I just cut the pictures out. I would think if that were the problem though, (being they actually looked through the non-pictures ones) they would have rejected them. :confused3 We'll see what happens with them I guess...

Thats a great idea about doing the restaurants!! From the statement someone posted above it only said "Chain restaurants" not allowed. Obviously all WDW's are pretty unique. It's def. worth a try.

Okay- I registered, but it's taking forever to send me a confirmation email! Is this normal?

mine wasnt coming, so i sent them an email through their site. click the contact us at the bottom of the page. they responded in about 2 hours, and were really nice and helpful.

If your review is declined, does it show that on your account? I have some reviews that have just gone poof?!?!

Wow, just wow. I just signed up and whenever I get set up, I will look for all of your videos.

I may not be able to upload any reviews, but while I sit at my desk I am happy to click on your reviews.

Congrats to those who have made some money on this.

Well all the videos that I uploaded last night for DH that were showing video error today are now showing as pending so I guess we are good to go. I must say I did feel it a bit of a crunch trying to get them all done at the last minute and then the whole site crashing yesterday was enough to make me insane...well heres hoping they all get approved.

And if ur scared about showing ur identity, sell a kidney.
