Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

But there is something I need to look into, if memory serves; Paypal only lets you move $500 a month from your Paypal account to your bank account, the rest has to sit in your PayPal account.

I don't know about that, but if you have a Paypal credit card it works just like a debit card and you can use your funds that way.

With my luck, they'll stop offering the $5 as soon as I get around to making my first video.

Well, bad news they have stopped the $5 rate for August, but better news is that the new rate is $10 for certain videos but $2 for others. look earlier in the thread (about 2 pages back) for the exact ones for each rate.

Just my luck, I looked on expo this morning and one of my videos I uploaded last night has a video error. I had a feeling it was uploading funny because it was taking a super long time. It is now a $2 video instead of a $5 like yesterday, oh well, $2 is better then nothing ;)

If all my pending videos get approved we would be 80 videos at $5, I can't complain with $400!

Once all of ours move to approved we will end up with 85 for July. I'm happy but yet bummed because we had 100 done but just could not get any uploaded yesterday. So frustrating.

This morning I have gotton one uploaded and on one I got the "Cannot locate video server" message again. Grrrrrrr!

Seems like it is getting more and more popular and going to be harder to make a ton of money in one month....

You can make 100 videos per account. Dh and I both have an account. If we EACH do 100 $10 videos, that = $1000 each, for a grand total of $2000 for the month of August.

Even though they changed the August payout to $10 for some reviews and the max number of reviews is still 100, they still have the earnings cap listed at $500 per month. :confused3 Anyone find anything different about the max payout for August?

Well this morning the site seems to still be moving painfully slow for me AND I checked on some of the last videos I uploaded around 11 p.m. yesterday and at least one is showing a video error and the others are showing as received but not processed yet, so not sure if any of those actually uploaded correctly.

Well at least I learned a good lesson...dont wait until the last day to upload. I plan on getting the bulk of my stuff done in the next 2 weeks and get them uploaded for August so that Im not sitting here frustrated at the end of next month, especially while trying to get the kids ready for school.

Oh and the person who mentioned about paypal holding anything over 500 is right, however, if you complete at least 2 steps you can get that limit lifted. I think one step is to confirm your bank account and the other is to enter your social security number and then another option is to enter a credit card. Im not so fond of putting my social in there. Has anyone done this?:confused3

Thanks! I signed up but have not uploaded anything yet. Maybe later. I will probably do a lot of movie and dvd reviews.

Hi,
Two questions:
1. What are movies that are presently in theaters paying out? They list movies as $2 reviews, but I am wondering if new movies are $2?

2. How do you keep track of the number of not yet approved videos you have uploaded. Expo only lists them by name and does not give a number count. Does anyone have a program that will do this or do you count them by hand from their list and then keep a record of it someplace?

thanks, tink

I know that I confirmed my bank acct but I don't know if I gave them my ssn. I don't have a $500 limit on my transfers, so I guess I can only assume I must have although that's unlike me. :rotfl2: My acct is a Premier acct, so that might be the difference in my not having a limit, too. :confused3

I have a rather primitive system. :rotfl2: I'm not into technology much. And I wouldn't know how to use a computer program to keep track of them even if it came w/directions. I'm amazed that I actually got expotv to work for me. Anyway, I write them down in a good, old fashioned, spiral notebook as I film them, give them a checkmark after they upload successfully, and then take a highlighter across them as they get approved. The only issue I have w/my system is that I don't alphabetize and expotv doesn't approve them in the order they are submitted, so I have to scan my entire list to find the ones that were approved. That gets easier the more highlighter marks I get to make though.

:( where do you see the earnings cap listed as only the $500?

OOOO, it's GONE now!! It was on the homepage in that orange box that gives a brief description of expotv (before you're logged in). It used to say "earn up to $500". I checked it right before I posted about the $500 cap being the same. But now it's gone. It just says "earn hundreds" right now.

you can also make 100 videos for august. so the possibility to make $1000!!! disney world here we come!

I really wish they could be more specific about the categories...Like Baby and kids....are they talking big ticket items or anything that has to do with babies and kids...such a wide range there...and travel destinations..what about different resorts at WDW..or is it just WDW in general. I posted this question on their forums but so far no answer yet.

I hope to be doing reviews this month! I joined in June but haven't done a darn thing yet! I am more afraid to see myself on TV and not doing it right.

Hmm, interesting twist on being able to do different flavors/scents on products. I wonder if that applies to all categories? For example, my ds has a ton of Thomas the Tank Engine trains- all different characters. Does that mean I can review each one separately? If so that would get me at least 50 videos right there.

How about Disney beach towels? I have 3 different characters- is that 3 reviews, or are they the "same?"

Creative Memories punches- I have about 8 different shapes- are they "different" now, or still considered the same do you think?

Just wondering out loud- any opinions are great.

I, too, wish they could be more specific. It's hard to believe a review for, let's say, fabric glue, would pay the same amount ($10) as a more involved review of a new blender. I guess one of the differences now is that expo is going to do some of the deciding on what reviews pay $2 and what reviews pay $10 and their decisions are final (according to the terms I read).

I wondered about newly released movies ($2?).
And how about pet food? Does that fall under grocery ($2?) or pets ($10?)

Well, this will be an interesting month. :)
