Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

 Dont give up just yet. :wizard:

Thanks for the hug- I've been at home now for years as our oldest started off sick and- well, it's all a long story as all three have multiple health issues-

I just put out another $100 (charged :guilty: ) for medical visits yesterday at The Emory Childrens Clinic, and we needed special glasses for one of the boys and glasses for both- Now, I find out from the dentist that both big boys have mouth issues that can't be put off any longer- they've been regularly seen at the dentists since they were 2 years old. I've waited as long as I dare- they need braces and so on- it wasn't so bad a few years ago, but now they have lots of teeth and are in need of some assistance. We don't have dental insurance  - so it's another bill to be paid on time installments.

I think I've paid so much interest- I wish I could just pay cash and be done with it- It just seems that as soon as we get one bill squared away, another major one pops up- at least we are able to get one squared away before the bomb drops again, I'm thankful for that-

my little one is not talking ( already had the hearing test repeated ) and now they want to do behavioral studies for age appropriateness sp? and that's going to cost a ton, then they anticipate an ENT and then speech therapy with possible physical therapy on top of that- at least if we have to deal with this I'm hoping that Babies Can't Wait will help us out there.- the peds say that he's developmentally delayed - we love him and he wasn't supposed to live to be born so our littlest miracle just needs some extra love to help him move along-

love- I've got tons of that! And, that smile of his just brightens up the whole room when he flashes one at us! :upsidedow

My DH makes a fair amount of $ - well according to the poll on the community- we are not even close to the average that people here voted they made- but all of the "spare" money is used for medical reasons- disney is our only splurge- usually in the off season, with code at values and sharing meals- sometimes we luck out- last year we had free DDP !:wizard:

We looked into getting help but we are just a smidge over the cut off number so we struggle for most everything. The only reason that he could get pizza was that it was buy one get one free as we had a coupon- and payday yesterday.

OK, well now that you all know our whole sad story- on with the Expo stuff- :grouphug: I feel great now that I unloaded all of that information. That was cheaper then a therapist visit :lmao: free is good!:rolleyes1

Okay- I'm Hopescry on the site- add me as a friend and I'll do the same for all of you ;)

Now- two questions:

1. How do I clip the end of my video so you don't see me stand up and turn off the recording?

2. How long do vids take to upload? I'm trying to upload one now and it's either not working or working v-e-r-y s-l-ow-l-y.

WOW! on a good day for me, it takes at least 5 minutes!!! You must have a killer upload speed connection :thumbsup2
On a good day for me they take 10-12 minutes! Boy I would love the 90 seconds!

i will say that i also notice a variance of upload speeds depending on which comp in the house we use. i would have expected that a connection is a connection (we have wireless for our 2 laptops, so everything comes from one router), but apparently i am wrong!! on dgfs macbook, we have BY far the best luck. on a good day, i can record a video, begin the upload, and start another video. by the time i am done with that video, the upload is easily done. it has been very easy, because the macbook has the built in camera. honestly, i dont know if i would have had the patience for all this if it hadnt been for the macbook and how much easier it has made it!! i have used a logitech webcam on both my dell laptop and our dell desktop, but using the macbook is far easier!!

 2 more of my vids got approved for last month...

:sad2: but 5 were denied due to background noise:sad2:

Wow, I think expo is getting a lot fussier. There are many videos up there with flaws much worse than background noise. :confused3 tink

I hear ya. Expo TV is making me nervous :headache: I dont want to be sadly dissapointed with rejections or $2 reviews. Maybe my hopes are too high for this month :guilty: :confused3

What is a category bonus..?? I just got one in my account!!!!

A .wmv file is what they are looking for, right? Okay- so I have that and it still doesn't seem to be uploading.

Can anyone tell me how they edit out the ending if they are getting up to turn off the camera? Is there free software that actually WORKS? I tried a windows download- but I can't figure out how to save the video from that as a .wmv file!

Was it for $5? I believe that means they accepted your video. Usually they send an e-mail when a video gets accepted, but I just realized that I had 2 more videos accepted that I wasn't notified about. :cool1:

I know this has been discussed over and over, but I'm mentally exhausted and couldn't possibly search through all of these posts for the answer...

Where can I get the best help with uploading video from my JVC camcorder onto my new Dell w/Vista that has no firewire plug?

Thanks in advance for any help or tips!

Don't get discouraged. As "talent" we have to develop a thick skin. ;) We have to let those rejections just bounce right off of us, learn from them, and keep on truckin'. Oops, dating myself, but seriously, we can only get better and produce even better reviews. :sunny:

I think we all saw stars in our eyes (or at least blenders and toasters) at the idea of $10 reviews. We might not get the full amount we were hoping for this month, but we are learning right along with expo on what is working and what isn't. If anything, we should give ourselves a huge pat on the back for turning out dozens and dozens of reviews in such a short period of time while dealing with a miriad of upload problems. :thumbsup2

edited weeks later to add that everything I said above turned out to be a bunch of gump. The rejections are discouraging and baffling.

Am I correct in understanding it is usually the 2nd or 3rd week of the month they pay out? I still have July videos pending, should they be getting to those soon to approve?

I am so excited/nervous about this. I have full confidence that I'll get paid, I mean I have read that others have and people have been on the site for a long time. If they weren't getting paid why would they stay? My DH is so skeptical. He'll believe it when he sees it. I can't wait to show him that PayPal email! LOL!

Thank you to the OP for bringing this site to our attention. :flower3: If it pans out as it should gosh it is going to make paying for my March trip SOOO much easier!
