Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

Hi i too have been lurking on this thread and on expo, I think I am ready to give it a shot but I also have some questions for you expo-experts.

There used to be a page on expo that told how much they pay for each catagory, now I cant seem to find it! could someone please send me a link? I only see the page that has the info about the stroller, flat screen tv and grills, so are these the ONLY reviews they are accepting this month?:confused3

ok final question...If I review an instrument(guitar for example) can I have my 13y/o play it or do I have to do it myself(thats not gonna sound too good:lmao: )

Thanks!:)

Hi. I've been doing expo since Feb, so I'll try to answer your questions...
you can review pretty much anything in your house, as long as it is a model that is still on the market. So anything from a television to a can of soup.
A few months back they did away with the tiered payment system, and switched to a higher payout for highr quality, but limited the anumber of videopinions you could do. So now you are allowed 20 videos at $10 apiece. Except in June they began the proces of paying out less for categories that are getting bloated, such as food and beverage, book, and dvds. The strollers, grills, cameras, etc. are bonuses for the summer, as those videos will pay an extra $10, making it a $20 payment for one video.
You can introduce your son, and have him revioew the guitar. This is what one of the admins instructed a member to do on the forums concerning a friend's vaccuum cleaner.

Expo can change it's payment and video amount each month. But lately it has been $10 a video for good quality videos, with a maximum of 20 videos a month. In addition to the $10, you get a penny per play. So each time someone watches your video on the Expo site, you get a penny. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I generally make an extra $10 a month on that. If your video doesn't pass the quality test, you get one chance to fix it. If Expo likes it, you get the $10 (upfront payment.) If it doesn't pass the test, you still get the penny per play. So it's not totally rejected.

I have reviewed everything from makeup to kitchen appliances to video games. Both of my DD's have helped me demonstrate their toys that I'm reviewing. The Expo reviewer just has to appear in each video.

I just found this thread last night. I joined expo and today I am going to try to do some videos. How long after you download a video does it take to find out if they accepted it? Thanks for all the helpful information. I am glad I found this thread. Thanks also to the OP.:flower3:

How long after you download a video does it take to find out if they accepted it?

I've had it take as little as a few hours to as long as 10-14 days. Lately, it's been around a week. There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind it. I can upload 2 vids back to back. One can be accepted within a couple of days, the other one 2 weeks. Don't let it discourage you if they take awhile to approve, especially since it's the end of the month. They get a large number of uploads during this time.

Granted... they say you can review anything so long as its nationally avaliable. But I think most people would agree that can mean anything.

So as a rule I don't review anything without first finding it in Amazon and making sure that the Amazon has the item listed as being avaliable.

Expo is a great way to make some extra money. You just need to make sure you keep up with the changes that happen all the time there. End of the month approval time takes a bit longer then earlier in the month so as the PP said, don't get worried. Just make sure you have good lighting, cover all the things they want covered in a review and you should be fine.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips. I will let everyone know how it goes.

So I have 8 videos done this month. I need to get moving to get 12 more done. I am hoping they cut categories off this month so that I am making $80 but we'll see.

Anyone done the extra videos this month? I don't have great hair so I may not do any of them. :)

I did the first two that were posted on this thread, then noticed the three new ones. You can do all of them. I plan to do them all.

So I have done 15 so far. 3 are still waiting -since I just uploaded them today. I hope to do 5 more tonight. I did do 1 of the 5 extra questions but I think that is all I will do of those.

How is everyone else doing?
THey are still saying in the forum that no categories so far look like they will get "bloated" :) So that is good news.

My husband and I both did all five.

My hair is not looking that great either, but it's $25. :lmao:

Both me and DH did all 5 too, no idea if his will get approved, some are barely 30 seconds. Mine were all approved already.

I got 19 in so far, 16 approved, the others I uploaded last night. Guess I should make the effort to get one more in.

I've made a total of .5 on my videos ..dont know why but they didnt credit the 5 dollars :S

You won't see the amount the videos have made until they pay you in August. The .5 is what you are getting on people watching your videos. It is called payperplay

I've only done 3 videos for the month and 3 of the questions, but they were all approved! I just haven't had a lot of time this month. Hopefully I'll get a few more done next month.

I've done 26 and they are all approved. I did all five hair questions and I was e-mailed a $20 bonus question. :thumbsup2

I am at 19 and 1 of the extras. I just need to find 1 more item to review. Might as well try for 20! I uploaded 7 last night so I am still waiting on those to be approved.

I haven't done one, not even the questions! I can't seem to get motivated at all this month. Perhaps tomorrow...

I finished mine off today, but I am contemplating doing one more tomorrow, as I have one that has been pending for about a week. It was a product I was pretty Luke-warm about, so not my most opinionated videopinion!
