Another waiting for Southwest thread!

Argggh! Nothing!

I've given up some hope and booked on AirTran one-way for our flight to MCO. The had a $79 fare for the perfect time, non-stop. I charged it to DH's Diner's Club account and I'll just have them apply his points to the amount paid...thank goodness for that kind of flexibility! I wonder how many people are losing hope like I did?

I booked the $79 Air Tran fares a couple of days ago. I like flying SWA and have never flown Air Tran before but I couldn't keep worrying over when SWA would get off thier butts and let us book flights.

:badpc:

I'm going to either be late or skip an activity for the kids tomorrow so I can yet again be glued to my computer at 11:00.

I think I might faint when I finally see SW's schedule go beyond August.

I am so disappointed. I can't believe southwest would leave us all just hanging. If I could get another fare non stop I would. I feel like my vacation is being held hostage..lol Now heres a question. Delta gave until tomorrow the 14th or they would strike, is that at midnight tomorrow or midnight tonight. cause I really think they are waiting to see what they are going to do before releasing anything now. :sad2:

Yea, we will all be too paralized & shocked when it actually appears on the screen that we won't be able to type in our info! :rotfl2:

I might be right behind you. I've been eyeing the AirTran $99 each way. Probably more than I want to spend, (I was hoping for something around the $60 area from Jackson, MS ) but the AirTran sale ends today. Probably not a coincidence. I'll check back with SWA a few times today, but I'm seriously thinking about the AirTran. Anyone found anything else around $200 RT?

Is it a good sign that there haven't been any DINGS this am???

not sure...this is my first time playing the SW waiting game, but on the last schedule extension (2/23) there was a Ding! that morning at 7:41. Not sure if one has to do with another :confused3

Nnnnooooooooooooooooo

I would be willing to bet if I didn't cancel Nick's appointment, they would have come out. It is a plot...I just know it is.

that is hilarious :lmao: I would have absolutely done the same thing--I went to the gym early so that I could get back in time--now I am dripping sweat but am scared to take a shower :rotfl:

And the wait continues.... :surfweb:

My daughter wants me to take her shopping tomorrow, oh no, can we go after 12:00pm?

I can see it now....The SW corporate execs are sitting there, watching how many times their website has been refreshed. "We got 'em now" "let's see if we can hold out another week"
We won't give up.....we won't give up....we won't give up

Because I have no life and am a complet dork, I looked at the data from release dates 3/13/03 - present. The range from the release date to the last schedule's end date is 99 days out - 141 days out during that time frame.

Interesting, the last 6 release dates came this many days out:

7/15/05: 105
8/18/05: 116
9/26/05: 105
10/27/05: 99
12/20/05" 101
2/23/06: 106

seems they have been going with sorter time frames (or longer depends on how you look at it). As of today, there are 113 days left in the schedule. April 20 will be 106, April 21 105. I think those are your target days if SW continues to follow it's recent pattern.

Well, I just couldn't stand it anymore (I need to get on with my life and get ready for Easter) and after looking for a return flight with times we could live with, I booked us on USAir :scared: for the return flight at $99 each.

The total cost for RT was $205pp between AirTran/USair...to be paid in Diner's Club points. I would have liked to have used those SWA RR awards but I have too many other factors to consider and getting the right days & times was too critical this time. Good luck to all of you who are waiting. I hope that SWA gets off their duffs soon and releases those dates.

I must be one too, because I have it figured out back to March 13, 2003 starting with 3/13/03 - 117, 120, 142, 119, 141, 112, 115, 118, 135, 131, 149, 135, 113, 132, 113, 108, 109, 123, 105, 116, 105, 99, 101, 106, (days remaining in the current schedule when the new schedule was released). Probably alot of useless data. :rotfl:

We surprised my kids, their spouses and our grandkids with a trip to Disney. Everything is all set. Now all we are asking for is 9 RT tickets on SWA. That's not too much to hope for, is it? :guilty: If I hit refresh one more time and see AUGUST 3rd one more time... Aghhhh!

"You have requested flight information for a date that is beyond our current booking schedule." :badpc:

Is that so? Well hows about I surf the world wide web for an airline who is actually willing to take my money and fly me to WDW? I just don't understand. What business witholds its product to the point where the market is driven away? Who developed this business model? Wish I had been in on that meeting!

Hasta luego SWA. I'm pulling up stakes and heading to AirTran.

You mean the major airline flying profitably?

There actually are reason shy they do this andits not to toy with anyone. Keeping costs under control, schedules set and predictable and efficient, well sold, profitable routes in the air.

morning fellow southwest wathcers!!! Did you see they changed the front page of the website today? don't know if that is good news but keeping fingers crossed it is. My butt is officially planted in this chair with my coffee for the next 2 hours. :surfweb:

I did see the changes. I hope that means more good things are coming.
