Another Use Year ?

Hi,

Finally talked DH into this and bought 150 points at SSR. We did the M.B. to take $10 off. My guide told me that we would have a February Use Year. We thought that would be good, because we wanted to go in February 05, and thought we would not have to borrow points for next year, since we would be given them on 2/1/05. Well, we just got the paperwork this evening and I think it is saying that our use year is March. I know this isn't a huge deal, but, to go in Feb 05 we would have to borrow points, and they become this use years, (2004)right?? So, if we had to cancel the trip we would loose the points if we didn't use them by the end of Feb 05 right?? But if our use year was Feb. and we had to cancel we would still have the rest of the year (05) to use them, right?? Am I just confusing everyone and myself??

You are correct in your thinking about the use year and your February '05 trip.

If you go in Feb, you'll be at the end of your use year, which if anything happens, will make things difficult.

The optimum use Year is the month where you want to travel, so in this case, February.

Then, if something comes up with a Feb UY, you'll have 6 months, and can bank 100 percent if needed.

Thanks, trying to explain that to DH and his eyes glazed over. So, I thought I was just confusing everything. Since my guide did tell me the use year would be Feb., can I ask them to change it back before signing, or does it change because it is March?? (Although she just told me that one week ago, and it was March then too!)

Call your guide back asap and Member Satisfaction as well and say there must be a mix-up as you wanted, requested and were confirmed Feb use year points

For the BW, BCV, & VWL, all the points became avaibale for sale at the same time, right? I would think that OKW must have been similiar to how SSR is being sold, building by building, so are they
seeling all the December points for building 1, then Feb for bldg 1, etc until building 1 is sold and starting over again with December for building 2? If I wanted to add on Points with a June use year, would i have to wait for another building to open to get points of that building for June? Anyone have this situation before @ OKW?

Thanks everyone!! I called today. My guide is on vacation and the person taking care of her work just entered March. She said that my guide had written Feb., but had not specifically told her that I requested it, so she just automatically wrote March. She told me it was no problem because they always save a few use years for every month they offer Use Years. So, SSRex I think to answer your question, you can ask for the use year you want at SSR and you should be able to get it. They are going to redue my paperwork and send it again.

You're lucky you were able to get it changed. This happened to us, only with with a March/April situation. We wanted/*thought*/were told we were getting March, but then paperwork came through stating April use year. When I called (our former guide; I requested a new one after this fiasco) I was given the runaround and told it couldn't be changed. WE have the April use yearl; it still makes me mad.
